Question about Televison & Video

1 Answer

Bd c5900 + Samsung PS50C680 tv trying to turn itself on. When I try to select internet@tv it stays on installing, the icon next to it keeps rotating but it goes nowhere even after 3 hours. If I try this after repowering it and watching a dvd it reaches the internet@tv screen then automatically goes into update and again won't go past installing. At the top of the page where you select internet@tv I have the You Tube, Picasa Web Album ETC which all work fine and access the internet. I am running the latest firmware - this has been happening since before it was installed, however internet@tv did work when I first got the BD. I thought it was probably a website malfunction but a whole month and an update has passed and still it doesn't work. model code: BD-C5900 Software Version: BSP-C5900WWB-1009.1

When this happens you need to perform a hard reset of the Blu-ray player, i.e. turn it off then on at the wall.

You should then be able to access internet@tv once the Blu-ray player has been reset.

Unfortunately this seems to happen quite regularly - I guess we need to wait for another firmware update to provide a proper fix!

I have the exact same problem as this with my BD C5900. Even the hard reset mentioned (by turning on and off at th wall) does not work with mine. I dont know what else to do?

I have just installed the BD C5900 and have exactly the same problem. Spoke to Samsung and they say your have to switch the blu-ray off and on the front of the blu-ray player itself press and hold the stop button for approx 30 seconds (small square symbol). This is a master reset. You then follow the set-up procedure as you did when you first installed the blu-ray. I did this and mine works fine now and has the latest software version BSP-C5900WWB-1009.1 installed okay now and everything including internet accessable once again.

Have a sumsung bdc 5900 player thats worked fine for 4 months but now when i put a blu ray disc it wont play but will dvds or cds

There is a problem in the laser pickup assembly, blu ray discs require a higher velocity and more precision to play than standard dvd's, if you still have warranty return the unit because there is nothing more can be done.

You probably have a bad main bd. The next bd to go bad will be the T-Con bd. Have a trained Samsung tech troubleshoot the set.
