How to I adjust the settings of a TV with a universal remote? I am using this TV as a computer monitor.

Firstly having tried TV's has a computer monitor, I personally wouldn't recommend one for that purpose. The screen appearance will never look as good as a proper monitor. Even a second-hand monitor will give you better picture quality, plus it will shut down when you power the system down.
Universal remotes have to be set up with the correct code for the make of TV and model. Not all codes will work all functions. Unless you actually know the correct code for your TV try all the other codes for the brand. Choose the best one.
Again the "Universal" on makes of remotes referrers to the fact you can get the basic functions for all makes of TV. It does not mean that it will work ALL functions on all TV's. The more expensive "universal" remotes will do more functions, but nothing will beat the "original" remote.

Monitor screen shows side to side display instead of up and down. How do I return to up and down display

Dear,

To rectify your problem, Perfrom these steps.
Self-Test Feature Check (STFC) Your monitor provides a self-test feature that allows you to check whether your monitor is functioning properly. If your monitor and computer are properly connected but the monitor screen remains dark, run the monitor self-test by performing the following steps:
  1. Turn off both your computer and monitor.
  2. Unplug the video cable from the back of the computer. To ensure proper Self-Test operation, remove both Digital (white connector) and the Analog(blue connector) cables from the back of the computer.
  3. Turn on the monitor.

Brand new D3000 camera, but LCD Monitor stopped functioning -only get shooting info and other menu functions. Tried reset button but no good

Hello

For a Nikon D3000 all you will see in "camera" mode are shooting information and menu functions. The D3000 does not have a Live View feature where you can view the "live" image via the LCD, only through the viewfinder.

In review mode, you will be able to preview the images you have already taken, however.

How do i connect my tv to my notebook computer

You get a VGA cable from a local electronics or computer store and connect the laptop vga external monitor port *(its the 15 pin D shaped blue port) to your TV's VGA input *(also a 15 D shaped port).

Then, when you want to watch your computer on your tv. Change your TV input to computer and toggle the laptops video output *(usually by pressing the laptops FN key and one of the function keys that has a picture of a monitor on it simultaneously).

That should do it. And, if you want the picture on both displays the FN feature normally gives you that option if you press the buttons again.

Good luck and enjoy!

Trying to scan a page from my HP 2120 printer. Pressing the scan button flashes the ''on'' light for a few seconds, then it stops and nothing happens...??

To use the scan features, the HP All-in-One and computer must be connected and turned on. The HP Photosmart Software must also be installed and running on your computer prior to scanning. To verify that the HP Photosmart Software is running on a Windows computer, look for the HP Digital Imaging Monitor icon in the system tray at the lower right side of the screen, near the time.

NOTE: Closing the HP Digital Imaging Monitor icon in the Windows system tray can cause the HP All-in-One to lose some of its scan functionality. If this happens, you can restore full functionality by restarting your computer or by starting the HP Photosmart Software.

How do you get the pivot screen feature to work? is there a need for an additional driver, etc. that my lenova computer does not have?

Hello,

yes, The pivot function is controlled by a software application that came with the monitor on the driver disk. A few video cards directly supports the tilt function without the driver but most need it to function. You should be able to download it from the Hyundai monitor web site if you don't have the original cd.

I hope this helps, if so please rate our solution.

  3. Turn on the monitor. The floating 'Dell - self-test Feature Check' dialog box should appear on-screen (against a black background) if the monitor cannot sense a video signal and is working correctly. While in self-test mode, the power LED remains green and the self-test pattern will scroll through the screen continually.
  4. Turn off your monitor and reconnect the video cable; then turn on both your computer and the monitor.
If your monitor screen remains blank after you use the previous procedure, check your video controller and computer system; your monitor is functioning properly.

Thanks
