Compaq desk top screen to large

Right click your desktop and click resolution. Adjust it so that it is set to the maximum possible (native) and click apply. If you're talking about metro, you should be able to scroll scroll to reach the other icons. You can also adjust icon screen size if you go to the desktop, hold the control key and scroll using a wheel, or right click and change icon size.

Desktop icons. i installed win7 transformation pack and now it has large desktop icons..how to turn it into classic icons?

  1. right mouse click on the desktop
  2. select properties
  3. click the settings tab
  4. after slide the resolution to 1024 x 768.
  5. If this is too small, then change it until you are satisfied with the screen resolution.

click advanced. Under general, you'll see DPI settings if they have changed, set them back to 96. If thats not the problem, go to appearance, advanced, then icons. Set the icon size to 32, and the font to 8. If not, increase the resolution by going to settings and moving the slider.

Please don't forget to rate... :-)

How do I make my icons smaller on my desktop?

First you just right click with your mouse on an open area of your desktop, not on an icon. Then you select from the menu that pops up "properties".

After that a window will pop up with some tabs across the top and you need to click on "appearance".

you can change the font size of your desktop there and if you click on the tab in the lower right hand corner you can select "advanced"

That is where you can change the size of your icons.

In the drop down menu that is labeled "item" you need to select the "icon" choice. After that you choose the size you want right next to it in the box marked "size"

The number in that box is in pixels and it will display the current size. Just change it to what ever you want it to be and click "ok" and if it is not good for you, then you do it all over again and choose a different size.
Thats all there is to it.

let me know if you need any more help and if you found this helped you a good rating would be appreciated. Most people I have helped don't ever give me a rating :(
