For those keys to work, you need the software utility for keyboard to be installed.
You can get it from Toshiba website

I am facing a problem from that day I have bought my ACER Emachinr e725.When I low the contrast of my laptop, after windows restart, it is again full. Please guide

That is because it is not stored.
Right click on the battery symbal on the desktop. Select Adjust Brightness and adjust it. If you adjust it from the F6 or F7 buttons, I don't think it remembers. Try it anyway.

How do i control the backlight on my toshiba satellite running win 7

Hold down the FN key (next to CTRL) and press F7 for brighter or F6 for dimmer. I'm pretty sure it's F6 and F7 on your model, but check first - F6 should have a small sun icon and a down arrow and F7 should have the sun icon and an up arrow. If it's not these 2 keys, look for these icons on all the 'F' keys.

Find the Fn Key (it's on the left side between the Ctrl and Windows Key) While holding down Fn, press F7 to raise the brightness or F6 to lower it.
