Most new computers have built in modems. The rear of the unit will have the telephone type socket there if it has a modem.
Let Windows Network Sharing Centre set it up for you, all you need is the basic information and follow the prompts. The shortcut icon is in on the desktop, bottom right habd corner. If it is the first time you have set it up, you may need a second pair of eyes to help you.
Hope that helps.

SOURCE: I have freestanding Series 8 dishwasher. Lately during the filling cycle water hammer is occurring. How can this be resolved

Hi,
a 6ya expert can help you resolve that issue over the phone in a minute or two.
best thing about this new service is that you are never placed on hold and get to talk to real repairmen in the US.
the service is completely free and covers almost anything you can think of (from cars to computers, handyman, and even drones).
click here to download the app (for users in the US for now) and get all the help you need.
goodluck!

CONTINOUS BEEP WHEN COMPUTER IS TURNED ON

To do this properly I need to know which model your computer is - is it an eMachines MB.NBK09.003 Motherboard El1850 Desktop S775 G41T-Ad ? I need this to try to establish the BIOS seller and version. You might try finding the BIOS version by (continuously) tapping the F1, F2 or esc key (or possibly another)immediately after you turn on. The "splash screen" that appears aftrer you turn on may have some lettering which tells what key to enter the BIOS.
In the absence of this information here are two suggestions
EMachines that beeps constantly and won boot up
if it is the above it is serious and the computer will need serious (difficult) repair, or main board replacement or whole unit replacement (by which I mean new computer)

The other suggestion was about the RAM not being properly in place, but I doubt this as this usually gives a different beep code

Either will work. If you aren't permitted under the context of warranty to open up the computer you will need to get an external one.

hi,
other computers are working fine in your modem?in that case you need to check if your pc can detect the modem,or you can check if the ethernet driver (for LAN connection) and/or wireless driver (for wifi) are installed correctly...you can check that in the device manager if the drivers are properly installed
if Windows 7 - click start ; on the start search area, type device and the look for device manager
look for network adapters and you will see there you lan and/or wireless adapter

Thanx

My emachine wont boot up it has never booted it was sent to factory and returned still not booting

One question that I have is did you ever have your computer hooked up to a dialup service through your internal modem? If so that could be the problem. alot of the times the modem may get a surge and cause it to fail. As a failsafe the modem will not allow the computer to boot. I would try to disconnect the modem, and see if this fixes the issue.

How do i connect it to the net? Do i still require an external modem for my broadband connection?

Every broadband connection requires an external modem. Your laptop might be shipped with an internal modem. But that is for dialup purposes. Today broadband uses a technology called ADSL. So you require a modem to decode the signals.

How to install a modem in gx150

I really wouldn't bother with dialup anymore, you can get a broadband package for the same money.

if you must use dial up, to install a modem,   you can use an external modem which means you don't have to open your pc(invalidating any warranty).

if you really want an internal Modem you can get a PCI modem which can be easily be installed into a free PCI slot,

If your board has an AMR/CNR slot (a small slot specifically designed for modems/network cards) you can buy a modem for that slot (which does not use one of your PCI slots)
