How do I use this product to save photos off my computer?

Hi,

Moving files from your computer to the USB flash drive is simple. Plug in your flash drive. Go to "Computer" or "My Computer". You should now see your flash drive show up under a drive letter, like E: or F: for example. Double click this drive letter and a window should open up. Alternatively, when you plug in the flash drive you may get a message on your computer with an option "Open/View folders and files". You can click this to open the flash drive window.

Now, go to the location on your computer where the photos are located. You can use your mouse, click and hold , drag the mouse over files you wish to move. Now that the photos are highlighted, you can click, hold and drag them to the flash drive window. Alternatively, you can right click on pictures and choose the "copy" option. You can then right click inside of your flash drive window and chose "paste". Either of these options will move the photos from your computer to your flash drive.

Regards,
G33k

Disk Drive Shows Up In Device Manager But Not My Computer

When you install a disk drive, Windows installs the disk drive's drivers and assigns the disk drive a Drive Letter. When your disk drive shows up in the Device Manager, but is nowhere to be found in My Computer, this means the drivers installed, but Windows didn't assign the disk drive a Drive Letter. The following procedure will help you to assign your disk drive a Drive Letter in Windows XP, Vista & 7. Note: You cannot modify the drive letter of your main partition on your PC.

Windows XP
  1. Log on as Administrator or as a member of the Administrators group.
  2. Click Start, click Control Panel, and then click Performance and Maintenance. Note: If you do not see Performance and Maintenance, go to step 3. Performance and Maintenance appears in Control Panel only if you use Category view. If you use Classic view, Performance and Maintenance does not appear.
  3. Click Administrative Tools, double-click Computer Management, and then click Disk Management in the left pane.
  4. Right-click the drive, the partition, the logical drive, or the volume that you want to assign a drive letter to, and then click Change Drive Letter and Paths.
  5. Click Add.
  6. Click Assign the following drive letter if it is not already selected, and then either accept the default drive letter or click the drive letter that you want to use.
  7. Click OK.
  8. You can now close any open Computer Management, Administrative Tools, or Control Panel windows.

Windows Vista
  1. Click on the Start button and then choose Control Panel.
  2. Click on the System and Maintenance link. Note: If you're viewing the Classic View of Control Panel, you won't see this link. Just double-click on the Administrative Tools icon and skip to Step 4.
  3. In the System and Maintenance window, click on the Administrative Tools heading located near the bottom of the window.
  4. In the Administrative Tools window, double-click on the Computer Management icon.
  5. When Computer Management opens, click on Disk Management on the left. Disk Management should appear on the right side of the Computer Management window after just a few seconds of loading. Note: If you don't see Disk Management listed, you may need to click on the '> icon to the left of Storage.
  6. On the right-hand side of the screen, locate and right-click on the drive that you wish to change the drive letter of and choose Change Drive Letter and Paths.
  7. In the Change Drive Letter and Paths window, click on the Change... button.
  8. The Change Drive Letter or Path dialog box will appear. Choose the drive letter you wish to assign to this partition. Click OK.
  9. The Confirm window that appears advises you that "Some programs that rely on drive letters might not run correctly. Do you want to continue?" Note: If you have software installed to this drive, the software may stop functioning after a drive letter change. Nearly all software defaults to the primary drive though, so this is rarely a concern.
  10. If you're sure you want to make this change, click Yes.
  11. You can now close any open Computer Management, Administrative Tools, or Control Panel windows.

Windows 7
  1. Click on the Start button and then choose Control Panel.
  2. Click on the System and Security link. Note: If you're viewing the Large icons or Small icons view of Control Panel, you won't see this link so just click on the Administrative Tools icon and skip to Step 4.
  3. In the System and Security window, click on the Administrative Tools heading located near the bottom of the window.
  4. In the Administrative Tools window, double-click on the Computer Management icon.
  5. When Computer Management opens, click on Disk Management on the left side of the window, located under Storage. After a brief loading period, Disk Management should now appear on the right side of the Computer Management window. Note: If you don't see Disk Management listed, you may need to click on the '> icon to the left of the Storage icon.
  6. On the right-hand side of the screen, locate and right-click on the drive that you wish to change the drive letter of and choose Change Drive Letter and Paths.
  7. In the Change Drive Letter and Paths window, click on the Change... button. The Change Drive Letter or Path dialog box will appear.
  8. Choose the drive letter you wish to assign to this drive by clicking the letter from the drop-down box on the right. Click OK.
  9. The Disk Management window that appears advises you that "Some programs that rely on drive letters might not run correctly.

Assuming you're using windows, open My Computer. There should be a drive labeled "removable drive". This is where your data is stored.

I want to install arcsoft totalmedia back & record on my computer. The directions say to go to the root directory on your simmpledrive external disk drive and double click setup.exe to launch the...

The root drive is always the drive letter with nothing after it.
If your external drive is drive E, then the root is E:\.
You can see this in Windows explorer.
1. Right click on the My Computer icon on the desktop.
OR
Right click on the Computer name in the list of components to the right of the program list (Windows 7, Vista)
OR
Click Start, run, type the word explorer and click OK.
2. Look for the drive letter that says "simpledrive"
3. Click on the drive letter and look for setup.exe

I hope this helps.

Hi, i have a old st344310a seagate hd i want to install. it plugs into the mother board and power supply, but won't show up on "my computer"

Right-click My Computer, choose Manage, or otherwise go to Management Tools.
In the left window drill down to Disk Management and select it.
On the right pane find your 4GB disk.
Right-click it, choose Assign drive letter, and choose an unused drive letter from list.
Confirm, and your drive should appear in My Computer under the newly assigned letter.

JumpDrive FireFly (4gb) not showing up in windows explorer or disk management

do you hear the USB hardware installation tones from windows when you plug in the the drive? If so then you are know the USB port is working. If you do not..try other USB ports. If you hear the noise...Right click on My Computer and click on Manage. Click on Storage and then Disk Management...see if you are having a conflict of drive mappings (i.e. F:/ or E:/)..you can relable the drive letters by right clicking on the drive in the right pane and selecting Change Drive Letter.

I just bought Hallmark Card Studio Deluxe 2009 & I can't install it. I am using Windows Vista Home Premium. I put the CD in & nothing happens. Can you help?

Go to My computer and look for the name of your product attached to one of the drive letters. At this point double click the drive letter with left mouse button. This should start installation.

If that does not work right click and select setup from the list.

Simpletech external 500GB HDD with external power not detected

Windows likes to mess with drive letters. Sometimes if you've plugged in another u.s.b. device, Windows will mis-assign the drive letter. Try this:

  1. Log on as Administrator or as a member of the Administrators group.
  2. Click Start, click Control Panel, and then click Performance and Maintenance.

Note If you do not see Performance and Maintenance, go to step 3.
  7. Click OK.
I'm pretty sure this will fix the problem. If not try us again at Fixya.com

You might have a problem with the disk. Take the disks back to place of purchase and ask for a replacement set, or else phone Garmin and explain you think you have a bad disk.
