It is a Teknik dual fuel oven & it doesn't heat up when on the "fan" setting, even though there is power going to it. Also, the Teknik cooker hood light & fan have stopped working.

Thx for this input- I am away from the oven right now but will be able to check it out within 24 hrs I hope.

Any comment re the cooker hood? One of the 2 x 40 watt bulbs blew and the fan appeared to stop working at the same; we replaced the bulb but the lights & fan still don't work. Is there a fuse somewhere within the hood that might have blown?

I will revert with the model number when I am back with the oven-Thx.

    220.230V AC - 50Hz- 180W
    CLF-P/N 5750202775

The issue seems to be with the oven temperature sensor that has blown same time with the element and should be replaced. However, before replacing it you can test it for 1100ohms and replace if it reads more than 1100ohms. Hope this helps...please post back for further assistance.

I have a New World Double oven, dual fuel range cooker - NW 90DFD0 The main oven isn't heating up.

Hello Ally;

My name is Peter. I am a retired field service appliance technician.

You may not have a problem. Normally your oven will rise about 40 degrees F. above the set temperature and then shut down, until the oven temperature falls 40 degrees F. below the set temperature, then the oven turns back on.

Your oven temperature is controlled by you oven thermocouple.

You also have a high temperature limit switch, which turns the fan on when you go too far above the set temperature to vent the oven. This may be bad.

It could possibly be you are not getting 240 volts to the range. The top igniter may be getting a current back through the other side of the 240 circuit and that is why it works when the oven is turned on but the oven will not be getting power to heat. Have the 240 circuit checked or make sure the circuit breakers are reset correctly.

My oven doesn't heat up

It could be the switch or heating element

Oven not heating

sounds like the control board relay(s) are defective and not latching, even though when set to preheat you may hear these relays click as though they are latching which they are,but the main relay contacts are burned out and not making connection to let one power phase to the other side of the element to heat it properly,as one side of this element always has power supplied to it,the other side of this element is controlled from the board to complete the element circuit to heat the element,if its good you should read around 240 volts on the element terminals if the relays are working properly, otherwise check each element terminal to chassis ground and see if you get around 120 volts to each terminal on the element

Run your fingers along the grill element, in this model it is accessible, check for raised areas or small hole or roughness not food burnt, if visible, it should be Black Grey colour at the blemish, you can obtain parts from you will need the model and serial numbers.
The grill elements come out but when unsrewed sometimes the ceramic holders crack, remove element before ordering as you may have to replace the element holders.
Hope this has been helpful

It will be the oven element that has failed, you need to fit a new one.
It is located at the rear of the oven compartment.

Fan forced heat not working

If it is an electrically heated fan oven, then it sounds like the oven element is not working.
This is usually located at the rear rof the oven behind a removeable cover.
Hope this helps.

My whirlpool fan assisted oven is not heating the fan is blowing cold air out, my gril and my hobs work fine

Sounds like you need a new fan element. You'll need to quote your model to ensure you get the correct element. A lot of Whirlpools can be done from the inside so the oven stays in the housing. Don't forget to power off first though! :)
