Question about Mitsubishi WD-52525 52" Rear Projection HDTV

Mitsubishi WD-52525 with green horizontal lines

Today, for no apparent reason, the picture on our Mitsubishi WD-52525 stopped working correctly. It has been replaced with what seems like hundreds of horizontal green lines. These lines move down the screen in a sort of haphazard scrolling fashion. Behind the green lines is a black screen with a small number of pixels set as white. It sort of resembles a bright star lit night sky behind the green lines. Turning the TV off and on does not help. The sound is still working. The TV device menus appear as normal. However, the DVD produces the same problem.
We have no way of knowing if the Lamp is the problem, because the lamp light has always stayed on since the last time we replaced the lamp and Mitsubishi told us not to worry about it if the set is working fine, which it has for the past 2 years.
When we turn the TV off and then turn it back on again, we get a message that appears at the bottom of the screen that says “Check connections or power. The connectors for RGBHV or YPrPb may be invalid” However, it is unlikely that any of the connectors have been moved or tampered with so I am suspicious of this message”
Any suggestions would be welcome.

green, blue scrolling horizontal lines, purchased in 2004, on second lamp for approx. 8months, no picture, no sound. Is this the capacitator problem? what kind of repair bill? does x-box play cause this? thanks. I have tried reset problem and also reset of the verizon fios box, no change in problem.

My Mitsubishi WD-52525 has a slightly different problem. Grey (clear) lines appear when I have an input plugged into the TV and that input device (DVD player) is turned on. With the DVD off the blue screen shown is flawless.

With my cable box the picture appears better with the understanding that regular definition cable looks pretty bad. I don't notice the lines on regular definition cable but on my HD sources the lines come back and are very close together.

Here are the steps I've tried so far:

    1. Tried another set of component cables

    2. Swapped with another DVD player

    3. Unplugged EVERY device from my entertainment system including power cords with the exception of the DVD and TV. A friend thought it might be interference from my cable TV.

    4. Tried a different power strip (current powerstrip is a Moster Power Powerbar 1100 with Clean Power Filtering)

    5. Ran power from a different circuit in the house with an extension cord.

    6. Replaced the lamp (the replace light was on anyway)

Any tips are certainly appreciated but it seems the typical solution for most television problems is that it's *almost* cheaper to buy a new television than it is to repair the one you have. I'm fairly tempted after paying $4,000 for this TV 4 years ago to sell it for scrap parts and buy a 47" VISIO TV from Costco and be done. I've always hated how rediculiously loud the television fan is. When I bought it I was assured this problem had been addressed by Mitsubishi which is why I had to wait so long for it. My days of being an early adopter of technology are over after this purchase. Sorry for the rant.

I have same problem with the horizontal green lines and would like to get the link mentioned about replacing the FMT PWB

The green lines are diagonal on my set. I also have a faint pink pattern that appears left to right on the screen.

The picture on our Mitsubishi WD-52525 has what seems like hundreds of
horizontal green lines. These lines move down the screen in a sort of
haphazard scrolling fashion. over the picture. There are also small
little white stars that flash over the picture. Turning the TV off and
on does not help. The sound is still working. The TV device menus
appear as normal. The problem is the same with the dvd player,
    playstation and vcr.

In one of your threads someone mentioned that we need to replace the
capacitors on the FMT PWB this is a common problem with the V26 chassis
which is what our model number is. They have some bad capacitors that
need to be Changed. There is a repair Kit available for the FMT repair.

Can you please send us the link for the repair kit or instructions on how to repair this ourselves?

    Thank You!

Exact same issue here as well. Went thru the gammit to resolve. Last resort, unplugged the main power for over an hour and now I get nothing and the lamp light is red! So, do I have a lamp issue or is it related to the bad caps on the power board? I also have service($99) coming next week. Should I cancel and put the money towards repair? Also, what are peoples experiences with TV-Techs.com? Any comments welcome. Thanks.

I have the same exact problem. Green lines scroll across my screen horizontally. I have read that the capacitors are blown on my tv on the board. My question is this, Is this a problem that is possible to fix on my own with a little knowledge or is this something that should be fixed by calling a tv repair man, Also if this must be fixed by a professional how much because I seriously doubt if the tv is worth being fixed if it costs more than 350 and the chances are it will break again.

This is a 2 man operation. Have one individual open and hold your exterior door to the balcony or alley. the other individual carries the mitsu 5252 out the door and drops it when convenient. Both individuals then drive to the nearest discount electronics door and load a new Samsung HD LED 60 to 65 inch TV into your vehicle and drive back home and enjoy. for less then the repeated repairs to your Mitsu junk. Life is too short.

I am having trouble with my Mitsubishi 52" DLP model WD-52525. It has large green horizontal stripes rolling up and down the screen. I have already paid my money here, and was disconnected before my chat...

There is a chance the video board is not working how it should. When a video board starts to fail it can start with these green lines and it can also give you a completely green or blue screen. In this case you need to take the board to a shop so they can check if it's either the digital or analog video board. The boards are not that expensive. http://www.discount-merchant.com/?Click=48427

Green horizontal lines on screen no picture

The green CRT's (color picutre tube or color wheel, or ballast) will need to be tested for replacement.
It is quite common with these tv's

You will need an ohmmeter and or voltmeter and test each component for currency and accuracy
