All Apple I pods work only with Itunes..so ..in order to add anything into it ..you have to install itunes..(available for windows too ) ..and actually add the files from the computer into the itune's library ..first ..and after that ..select items ..and sync ..
Your ipod have to be visible ..and named in the itunes in order to be able to sync ...
so ...to do that ..select the player ..than the music in the library ..and choose sync...something like that ..you will be able to manage after a while if you never worked with it before..its not that complicated..
here is a download for itunes

Try unplugging the computer from the wall for a couple MIN. and that will clear out the processors, and then plug the iPod the the computer and before stalling reboot, and reboot computer and it should recognize it then.

Ipod 120 classic backs up only 231 songs

Sometimes it is easiest to start over. In the case of the popular iPod, clearing the hard drive is the easiest way to remove the files and restore the drive. The process is rather basic using the Apple iTunes software. Once your 120 GB iPod is restored, you can quickly sync all of your songs saved on your computer back onto the iPod. Properly complete the restoration process and enjoy your revitalized iPod.
Open the iTunes application on your computer. If you do not yet have the iTunes application, you can download it from Apple's website for free. From there you can easily download and install it. Open the folders on your computer which contain your saved music files and drag and drop them into iTunes. If prompted to convert to M4a, select "Convert." Connect your 120GB iPod to the computer using the provided USB cable. Click the "Restore" button on the main screen in iTunes, then click "Restore" a second time once prompted to initiate the restore process. Click the "Next" option, then "OK" once the restoration is complete. Your music will no longer be on your iPod, but will remain in your iTunes library. Click the "Sync" button on the bottom left side of the iTunes screen to sync the music library with the iPod.

I have over 1000 tunes in my itunes which play fine on my computer, however my ipod classic black stops sync at 310 tunes is this a problem that i can fix myself of is it not worth being fixed - its...

Check to see if your device memory is full. If this is the case, you may have to delete some files to create space for your songs. Are there movies that you have already seen still on the device? Delete them if you do not need them any more as a single movie file can sometimes take up enough space for 100 songs.
A way to check the memory is to click on your Ipod name in itunes and it will take you to the device information.
Hope this is helpful.

Ipod classic 120gb says no songs no photos etc. but memory is full with other?

Hook up your mp3 player to your computer
Go to your desktop and double left click on "My Computer"
When it opens you will see listing that says "Devices with Removal Storage" your mp3 player should be listed there.
Right click on your mp3 player, and a window will open, right click on "Open" and now your files/songs should be visible.
To remove any of the files or pictures follow the directions below:
Hold the left click down and drag it across all the files/songs that you do not want this will highlight the files/songs you do not want, release, right click and then click on "Delete"
Now you mp3 player should be clear of the files/songs you do not want.
Good Luck,
I hope this helps

Sir i hav transferred various songs to my i pod 120gb classic ....but i m not able tp play them on i pod as i m not able to found them on any folder whatsoever in ipod,,,,surprisingly i m able to play them...

This is simple.

Do not copy paste songs on ipod.

Just intall iTune software from www.apple.com & Add you songs to media library & sync your i pod with them.

Now you can play your songs on your ipod. This is the process of fill songs on ipod.

Thanks.
If you accepts my solution please vote me.

My 120 GB I pod classic Doesn't play the next song

Hi. Check that when you plug your iPod in that it isn't selected to "Shuffle," play which can happen if you are expecting to go through songs. There is also another reason and one I didnt know about until I took my iPod Classic back to my retailer thinking there was a problem;
If the songs on your iTunes or default device isn't an AAC file the iPod will fail to play it. On MAC systems simply click the file that you want to put onto your iPod, right click and scroll to "Get Info." If the file doesn't say it is an AAC file it won't play on your iPod. Scroll further down on the list to "Create AAC version." This takes milliseconds, doesn't affect the sound quality but condenses the data fit for the iPod Classic. Once that's done you can add any song you like.
Generally when you put a CD into a MAC it will automatically change the AIFF files into AAC which means you don't need to manually convert. AAC is usually needed when individual tracks are called up and put onto your iPod. I hope this helps you - it drove me nuts until I found out about the AAC.

I have boutht a new ipod classic 120gb , unable to switch on after connectiong to the PC, I have even dowloaded itunes alos , pl guide me how to go about_phani

Is it still connected to your computer and mounted in iTunes? If so the ipod will show up under devices in the iTunes sources list. You need to click the eject icon before you can use your ipod while it is connected to the computer.
