I have a Sony KDL40W4500 LCD TV which is only two years old and the TV has developed double/triple imaging, mainly on the right side of the screen. After about 15 minutes before I get a clear picture, but the time to come good is getting longer and I fear the fault will be permanent soon. It appears to be a heat related problem. I imagine a card replacement would be required, which probably costs as much as a new 40 inch LCD. Any help would be appreciated as it only had a SONY one year warranty.

- Flickering screen
- Screen image disappears after several seconds

examine the capacitors in your LCD TV or monitor and actually see if they are bad.
If they appear bulged on top, then they need to be replaced.
New capacitors will solve a host of problems in LCD monitors and TV's and will extend the life
of your monitor or TV by several years.

Take it to a repair shop.

YHi this can be cause by two things. Either your screen is defective or your t-con board is defective. The t-con board would be the more economical to replace.

This tv problems u can't fix it easily,u must take the tv aparts and change an electronic board that call the T-CON board to fixed this problems.If this problems double or triple images not causes by U or an objects by outer forces hitting the LCD screen panel itself,if yes this problems causes by U or an objects by outer forces hitting LCD screen panel itself.This tv problems can't not be repair,because the LCD screen panel itself it is dead and damages leaking radiation,if got hit by an outer forces,if screen damages by outer forces,this tv only can used as salvage tv for it electronic circuit boards for other tvs for as parts only now,because if the tv require a new LCD screen panel will cost the same as a new tv.This T-CON board sit at the bottom in the middle of the tv LCD screen panel.Tries websites like Shopjimmy.com,Ebay.com to buy an refurbish T-CON board for the replacement.

This sounds like what I managed to do to my screen, even though I knew better. Is there any chance you layed the screen face down at some time?

Even though you can still watch it OK, you probably have hairline fractures in the screen face (NOT the screen itself- be thankful for that- the cracks are in the screen coating). LCD screens are a very thin glass laminate with a thin protective glass-like coating. When they are laid flat (like I did to connect cables) if the screen bears any weight, microcracks develop on the front of the screen.

I am sorry to say that the effect is permanent.

That sounds correct, I just have to work on SONY BRAVIA KDL-40BR4 with Horizontal lines problem on ther right side, you you tap around the frame, the lines will come and go, this is only 2 years old TV! Poor quality panel made by SONY/SAMSUNG company jointed venture.
Very sad indeed when you paid for BRAVIA series which are not cheap.
New screen will cost more than new TV.

The T-con board is developing problems,just not dead yet.This board it sit at the middle of bottom of the LCD screen.That board is the cause.

The last Sony LCD set I had with a problem a bit like this had a bad LCD drive board. This is the board at the top of the set--that connects between the LCD panel and the main board.

Ur convergence is dead,need convergence kit.

You may want to try disconnecting the power for about 30 seconds and rechecking the TV. Otherwise, it may not be worthwhile repairing.
