Pressure problem HI, I have very little pressure at the gun end. I have pleanty of water to supply the machine. When I release the trigger it kicks back and forth.

hi, let me tell you the reason why I think this happened. I was using the pressure washer were there was little quantity of water for it and is would only get pressure when there was sufficent water. I still used it like this cause I had to pressure wash this area. So I took the pump apart and looked at the karcher web site and it helped me put it back together. This did not help. At this time it was just getting pressure on and off with the trigger on. I read some of the trouble shooting online and so I did what it said. I took the two torx screws off and took that valve out and greased it. With this it got about a quarter of the total pressure but now it is constant. Now when you release the trigger it seems as if the pressure goes on and off and it does not stop doing this. If you can do me the favor of telling me exactly what number in the diagram in the web site you gave me is the part you are referering to. My pressure washer is the G 2500 VH. There are many valves that don't say which is the pressure valve. Thank you for your time and for your help.

Sorry i am not the one who gave you info from before. but from what you say your problem is water supply. if you don;t have enough to feed the pump it will cavatate. and that is why it surges the way it does.

Motor is working but does not spraying the water and also cant remove main hose from both machine and trigger gun. what is the problem?

Hi Fahad:
I could be suspicious that the gun may be clogged.
If the hose and gun are pressurized the couplings should not be able to be dis-connected. The pressure should be released first by shutting the motor off and then squeezing the trigger to allow the water to drain.
May I suggest that you first try a different nozzle on the gun, and if it still won't work, a "dismantle and service" procedure would be the next step.

I bought a honda pressure washer power boss 3000. I load the gasoline, start the machine, but pressure water is not coming out from the trigger. i tried so many things , but can t get started.

If you are using a water tank for water supply, remove the water supply line from the pressure washer and connect a water hose from a faucet. Turn the water on, then crank the engine. Pull the trigger of the spray gun until water comes out. When then water starts to spray properly the release the trigger, shut engine down with pressure on the line then reconnect the water supply from the tank to the pressure washer. If this fixes the problem then the problem was "air-locked"! Happens alot with new pressure washers that have never been run. Engine runs , not getting any water flow when trigger pressed.

Disconnect hoses.
Look for kink in water hose.
Check incoming water connection for filter washer
Replace filter washer
If you don't have a filter washer, put one in.
Hook up water, and turn on
Water should come out other side of pump.
Turn on machine.
Do you get pressured water out of pump.
If no pressure, then pump is suspect
Hook up washer hose without gun
Does pressure come out of washer hose
Finally, the gun trigger may be bad.

We had to buy guns now and then.
Search for pressure washer guns
Following link shows guns we used:

My pressure washer is a G 2500 oh n i have no pressure coming out, it turns on but no pressure.

Good news, your engine runs
But your pump may be bad

Here's how to test your pump
Check oil as outlined lower down
Disconnect the washer hose and gun
Connect water hose and turn on water and water should pass straight through the pump
Look for clogs in the hose-end where water hose connects to machine

Turn on machine and see if water shoots out pump
If water shoots out of pump, but no water shoots out of gun, then you may have a 'mud-dobber' wasp clog in your washer line or gun

Look for clogs in the end of each water connection.
Now connect washer hose without the gun, tun on the machine, and see if water shoots out of washer hose
Finally, the gun trigger mechanism may be bad
I don't know which gun you have ... but we replaced guns on our machine now-and-then ... google-search power washer guns for a replacement

Check your pump oil
Pump oil is SAE20 or SAE30 non-detergent motor oil
Pump should be no more than 1/2 full of oil
Use plastic hose to drain pump oil
Do not turn machine on its side or turn machine over or engine oil will run into carburetor

Cant start the unit ,there is to much pressure on the pull chord when water is hooked up.

Trying to start a pressure washer with water supply on and gun trigger off will be a difficult task. It could be comparred to trying to start a lawn mower with the mower in tall grass. Place the mower on the drive or walkway and pulling the rope to start the engine is much easier. It is easy to start your pressure washer with no water in the system however there is a remote possibility that you could overheat the seals if you take too long to turn on the water. It is a little more difficult to start the washer with water supply on and someone holding the trigger to wand open. This will prevents pressure from building and making engine hard to start. You will not damage your washer if you start it with water supply off if you flood the pump and pressure hose with water first . Here is the procedure I use if i am working alone. I trun on the water to pump and open trigger to gun to allow water to flow into pump and pressure hose. Turn off water (leaving the water supply on will make it a little harder to pull starter). Start engine while holding trigger to gun open. When engine starts release gun causing unloader to activate circulating water in pump. Now turn on water and you are ready to work. If your system is under warranty however, I would advise to use the starting procedure outlined by mfg (hold open trigger to gun however). To get the longest life from unit try using it at say 75% of capacity or lower if your can and use max pressure on the tuffest jobs. Leaving your washer at full pressure for all jobs is like driving your car at 100 mph everywhere your go. Good luck.

Does not give a continous high pressure flow cuts in and out

that is sure signal of insufficient water supply!

try easy solution first:
make sure that your mains is fully open, that tap on whihc hose is hook up is fully open and hose is of "decent" diameter to allow sufficient flow.

if above solution do not work then you need to make another, more difficult arrangement:
prepare 20litres pressure tank with inlet connected to mains and outlet by short hose to power washer, fill it with water from mains, keep it under mains pressure and use karcher power washer normaly. this will solve water supply problem. twenty litres will last about 2min, because it is re-filled, under standard pressure therefore it will last about 3min...

third possibility is to stop washing...

if you find my advice helpfull, please do not hesitate to left the comment and vote for me, thanx!

Ex-Cell VR2500 Builds Pressure but Won't Spray

I have a similar problem and diagnosed it to be a problem with the gun. I spoke to a technician that services this pressure washer and he walked me through all the diagnostic steps. The pump is working because there is pressure being built up and the gun sort of works because you can get water out before the washer is started. The technician said that the mechanism inside the gun is either clogged or broken. I am going to Home Depot or Lowes to purchase a new gun and will try it tonight. Guns are only about $30-40. He said generic is fine as long as the thread matches and PSI is in range. Good luck!

No pressure

It is probably air locked....Here's what you need to do. Connect the garden hose, and HP hose, but not the gun. Turn on the water, and let it run while you make sure that there are no high points in the garden hose that can trap air....Work the hose so that any air is displaced through the pressure washer. Continue in this manner through the HP hose. Shut off the water and connect the gun. Turn the hose back on, and operate the gun for several minutes, pulling the trigger and releasing. This alternately allows the water pressure to build up on house pressure and then to depressure, pulling residual air from the system. Release the trigger, and start the machine. Usually, this is enough to get full washing pressure. If it is very difficult to start, you can hold the trigger down on the gun and pull the start cord at the same time. Holding the trigger down acts as an unloader, making the starting easier.
Hope that this helps, --W/D-- please feel free to rate this solution! Thanx!
