Your Motherboard will support:

2 x 240-pin DIMM's (4GB Max)
Unbuffered
non-ECC
667/533/400 MHz DDR2

You should be pretty safe with any main brand name of memory from your local computer shop.

Below is a list of ASUS TESTED and Qualifed Vendor RAM.

Hello,

You need to get some pc2-5300 ram. It runs at 667 mhz. Any brand will work. Just tell them you want 2 gig of pc2-5300 ram. If you are using windows xp, don't install more than 2 gig. Xp cannot use/recognize more than 2 gig of ram.

Hope this helps!

Regards,

Joe

Unable to install Radeon HD6450 2gb Graphic card on ASUS P5RD2-VM Motherboard. I am using 32 bit Window xp

Hi, you can download a manual here:

http://support.asus.com/Download.aspx?SLanguage=en&m=P5RD2-VM&p=1&s=22

Please select your operating system.
Select manual and click on global.
Unzip the file before you can read it.
Upgrade the other drivers if some missing.
Run also windows update.

You may have to disable the onboard graphic in the bios.
You can also try to upgrade the bios by using the
asus upgrade utility.

The graphic card must be a PCI-E socket.
I guess the old driver is making a conflict as it is the same brand.

And download the latest driver for your graphic card here:

My motherboard, P5RD2-VM, 400Watt PSU, 1GB RAM, Pentium D, when installed first time with a VGA card SAPPHIRE RADEON HD4670 512MB GDDR3 no problem. But after about one year, the VGA fan often turns itself...

Apparently yes. To determine that for sure boot in Safe Mode and run it there - the drivers will not be loaded so if it stops you will know it's a hardware problem.

Upgraded my RAM to 2 x 1gb kingston KVR667D2N5 and windows XP will now not start. If I replace my old RAM, it works fine. Please help.

Your memory is not supported in Asus QVL = Qualified Vendor Listlist. There are only 4 Kingston DIMMs that pass Asus test for 667MHz. They are;
DDR2 667 512MB - E5108AE-6E-E
DDR2 667 1024MB - E5108AE-6E-E
DDR2 667 512MB - E5108AE-6E-E
DDR2 667 256MB - HYB18T256800AF3
Try exchanging the memory you bought for one of the above.
It wouldn't hurt to clean both sides of the memorys contacts. Two drops of alcohol onto a cotton sawb. Do not touch the contacts with your fingers.

Only recognises 2 gb when max supported is 4gb...

Is it all the same exact brand of memory, Dual Channel or no ?

You said its 800mhz ram and the mobo supports 600mhz, is it all 800 or 600 mhz or different speeds. Alot of motherboards will kick it down to match the other sticks some might not.
