Question about Acer Aspire 5610-4648 Notebook

1 Answer

My Acer Aspire One has been ok until recently when i turned it on and the screen runs windows Xp several times. It turns off and on several times without ceasing, and the only thing I see is the Windows XP and then second thing i see is press f2 OR F12. I therefore pressed Alt f10 to try to reset it to factory settings but to no avail as the problem persists. I cannot even boot it with any system disk because it does not settle to the window icons, it just runs continuously.. I dont know whether it is something to do with hardware or the screen or the operating system. Please help! Your help will be appreciated.

Hi,Your operating system is corrupt, probably as a result of an infection or as a result of the Hard Disk failure.so i'll advise you take out the hard drive,back-up your files if any and format your system, then re-install operating system.

Configure wireless connection on acer aspire one

Some people like to disable the zero config service for security purposes. Here's how to re-enable it (assuming you're using Windows XP) -

  • Go to Start then select Run (or use (WinKey+R key combo)
  • Put in services.msc
  • Keep hitting the W key until Wireless Zero Configuration is highlight.
  • Double click to bring up the properties of this service
  • You want to make the Startup type set to Automatic and then also click the Start button (next to the stop button and below the "Service status" line.
When you're done just push ok to get rid of the properties window and you can close the services screen. You should now be able to connect to the wireless.

What I wanted you to clarify was the message that you noted as "something to the effect of 'Beginning of physical damage'", but you only saw it the one time I see on rereading the post, so never mind.

Have you tried doing a factory restore using the recovery media? Try pressing Alt + F10 on booting to get to eRecovery Management.

Have you tried booting into "Enable VGA" mode via the "Windows Advance Option" screen? By press F8 before Windows XP loading screen comes up. In this mode the Video Card drivers are disabled. So if your screen appears normal and not white in this Mode then it is your video card drivers which are causing the issue.

Sounds like both of you have what is called 'Microsoft Blue Screen Of Death' and is irreversible, but is fixable at the same time. If you need files on your computer then follow these instructions

  1. Turn on computer and Insert Windows XP Installation Disc that came with your computer
  2. Wait until it says 'Press any key to boot from CD....' and press any key
  3. Wait until it comes up with prompts and choose 'Install Windows XP
  4. Choose to install XP without formatting the hard drive and choose a made partition (C Drive) to install NTFS
  5. Install and now your system will be working again. You will be prompted from now on though which Operating System you would like to use. Always select the first one
  6. Enjoy
For if you want to erase the hard drive
  1. Follow steps 1 - 3 in above instructions
  2. Choose 'Format Hard Drive'
  3. Select create partition in Hard Drive and set it to the maximum space and call (C)
  4. Select NTFS and go through instructions
  5. You won't be asked to choose a OS as there is only one to choose from
  6. Enjoy
Hope This Helps

My Acer Aspire 5100 is messed up ?

I had a laptop in my shop recently with the same problem. If you moved the machine at all it would blue screen. The problem was a connector on the motherboard that had came loose and was shorting the system out. I had to tear the machine completely down, and it took me hours to find it. With that said, you have a short somewhere on the board, whether it be a loose connection or bare wire, and it would be in your best interest to take it to a professional to find the problem.

Acer Aspire 5050 Won't Boot.

Your problem could be windows vista isnot installed properly
i assume in the beginning, your laptop come with windows xp.
if you want to go back to windows xp, you can still use alt+f10, as long as you don't delete the recover partition.
Just boot and press Alt+F10, it'll give you recover screen.
