The camera uses a USB2.0 connection. The best speed results can only be achieved when the computer does have USB2.0 or better too. You can try another USB port or try it on another computer.
An alternative is to use a SD / SDHC memorycard and to transfer the pictures, put the card into the computer cardreader.

How to recover my pictures that was erased

If the pictures were on a memory card and nothing new has been written to the card (no new pictures), you may be able to recover them. Put the card into a card reader attached or built-in to your computer. Run a file recovery program.

To find a file recovery program, do a Google search for "file recovery" and your computer's operating system.

I have a Coolpix L100 that has around 800 pictures on it. I do not want to delete these pictures from the camera itself. However, every time I try to upload my newest pictures to my HP it automatically...

First of all, the pictures are not on the camera, they are on the memory card. It is not a good idea to keep that many pictures on the card for an extended period of time since they could be corrupted over time. If they are safely on your computer, you should consider backing them up to a CD or a DVD. Now to the downloading could get an inexpensive card reader. You plug your card in one end and the USB end into your computer. When it opens, you can select only the newest pics and drag and drop them into a folder you create on your desktop. Once there, you can send them anywhere on your computer you prefer such as "My Pictures". typrice_211.jpg

I accidently deleted a picture, how do i recover this photo?

First of all, you should stop saving any new files to you canon camera (or SD card) or taking new pictures with you camera.

Then find a professional photo recovery software named asoftech photo recovery, which is of high quality and easy-to-use.

Digital Photo Recovery Download

Here are the steps:
Step 1: Download and install the Asoftech Photo Recovery Software.
Step 2: Connect your camera (or SD card, memory card etc) to you PC. If camera does not shown as a drive letter (e.g. E:), you need to take out the memory card from camera and then connect the memory card to computer with a card reader.
Step 3: Scan the camera memory card drive where your lost pictures located.
Step 4: Press "Recover" to save the recovered photos.

I have formatted my photos andnow i cant seem to locate them. Are they lost forever?

Formatting a memory card deletes everything on it.

First take the memory card out of the camera. Pictures that have been deleted are probably still there, but will be overwritten if you take any more pictures on top of them.

Your camera is not able to undelete pictures, but there are programs for doing this on a computer. You can put the memory card into a card reader attached to a computer, and use an undelete program to recover the deleted files. Undelete programs are available for free download from the internet, try the one at THIS LINK

As the card has been formatted, not just deleted, you will need to use the software to do a surface scan to find the pictures.

If the pictures are very important to you, you might want to seek help from an experienced person.

It could be that Facebook is experiencing heavy traffic and the servers are slow. Wait a day or two and try again.

It could be that your computer is slower or internet connections. Try using a different computer.

I took a picture wihtout a CF card in the camera

When you take pictures without the internal card , they get stored inside the camera internal memory (usually 8 or 16 MB only).

Connect the camera to a computer using a data cable, without putting any memory card inside the camera. The camera internal memory will be displayed as a new external usb disk on computer.
