Reset my dlink dir 615 router and now internet light stays flashing orange

Do you have the Internet connected to the Internet port in the back of the DLINK? You will have to configure the DLINK for internet access. Open a web browser to your DLINK and check on the configuration under internet-setup. Select the type of internet connection you have i.e. DHCP, PPPoE, Static, etc. Once that is set up, you should have access to the internet like before.

Check and see if you have turned off the radio for your wireless antenna- generally it is a key combination or a button on the side of the laptop.

I have no wireless internet. It went out all of the sudden last night. This is an urgent matter as I need it for work. Resetting router does not work, cable modem IS in working order, orange light...

Just to clarify when you say your computer does connect with an Ethernet chord you mean you are able to connect to the Internet? If so, you should be able to reach the management console and reconfigure the wifi by following these steps
Else when you say you reset the router did you try to reset it to the factory settings by holding down the reset button for 30 secs as shown here?

Cant access internet through wireless network.

How do you know your notebook is connected to your wifi AP? Did you try pinging the gateway? If not, open your command window & type "ping 192.168.0.1" (put in your own gateway address.) If you get replies, then ping something outside of your network: "ping 4.2.2.2" (this is a verizon dns server). If you get replies, then "ping yahoo.com". If it does not fail at any of the above steps, you don't have a connectivity problem. If you fail any of the above, then report back & we'll continue the troubleshooting.

Wireless Connection

I had this problem when I first got my laptop!
I have the same brand & everything as you, so this should work.!

the speakers on the computer are on the side of the laptop, under neath the mouse pad & everything.. (there on the side where when your computer is on, theres a little light thats green, and when its charging, theres a orange light on.)

inbetween the two speakers, there are also the plug ins for headphones & microphone. to the left of those plug ins, there are two slide-able buttons. one for blue tooth, and the other for wireless. the wireless one is on the right. when the wireless is on, the button has an orange light beside it. when off, there is no light. there is an icon beside the button that looks like a pole with a ring around it.
turn your computer on & slide the button, give it a minute to search for the networks & it'll be up & running. i hope i could help(:

Laptop

Hi,

It really depends on what "modem" Orange provided you with and how your personal PC is connected to the modem.

If the "modem" provided by Orange uses WiFi (such as Livebox) networking, then it is a matter of setting up your daighter's laptop to access and use the Livebox WiFi Network. In this case no router is needed since your modem is also a router.

If your PC is connected via Ethernet port to the "modem" and Orange's "modem" is a single Ethernet output port, you would need an AP/Router (Wireless since I am presuming the your daughter's laptop would be accessing the Internet wirelessly) such as the LinkSys WRT54G.

If your PC is connected via USB port to the "modem" and Orange's "modem" has only a USB output port (no Ethernet), you need to make your PC as the default gateway/software router and share your PC's Internet connection. If you are connecting your daughter's laptop using Ethernet cable, then you don't need a WiFi AP/Router but an ordinary hub. If on the other hand the new laptop would connect wirelessly, you would still need something like the WRT54G.

Hope that this be of some help/idea. Pls post again how things turned out or should you need additional information.

Good luck and kind regards.
