Question about Mitsubishi Televison & Video
The problem with this television is that the lamp is bad, you need to replace the lamp of the television and it will be in good condition once again. To replace the lamp, you will have to get the appropriate screwdriver, then you unplug the television for about 6 hours so the high voltage in it will dissipate, because, television stores current in it. Then you get a cup to put all loosed screws in,then you turn to the back of the television, then check the lamps compartment, then you unscrew it open, turn off the lamps switch, then you unscrew the screw that is holding the lamp together, then you remove the lamp, assess it and replace it with a new one.
After doing that, replace the t-con board of your television also, it is in the upper middle of the main board of the television, replace it also before reassembling the television.
Check all boards on the television for bad capacitors also before reassembling the television back together, in order for ou not to loosen the television more than once.
If you are not familiar with such electrical activity, i will strongly advice you seek the assistance of a friend that can do such or a neighbor to assist you with this.
That should do the job for you.
Take care and good luck.
Happy new Year!!!!!!!

This model suffers from vertical failure associated with a defective cap in the power supply.
A known failure mode and a kit is available from Mits to overcome this problem.
There is also another problem associated with the horizontal driver transformer.
You would be best advised to unplug the set and have it serviced before the CRT's are ruined from repeated attempts to turn it on.
There will also be quite a number of leaky caps in different areas of the circuits that will need replacing to circumvent future failures.
