Question about Vacuums

Have a windchaser portable ice maker which only makes one cube at a time. I have been told one possibility is a clogged freon tube, but no suggestions on repair. Another is low freon, but I cannot find a fill valve. Any suggestions?

CAUTION !!! ----freon re-charge should be performed by a trained service person -- this can be very dangerous if trying to perform yourself.
depending on the year of the unit --one thing that I would check is to make sure you have good airflow in and around the unit,, dust and dirt can hinder performance of the unit.

Making a loud noise and not picking up

Not picking up? Usually caused by a clogged vacuum line/filter or full bag. First, check your filters/bag for capacity. Next, inspect the ribbed hose. If it's heavier than normal, your clog is probably in there. You can clear it by gently squeezing to find the foreign body that has likely become wedged into the ribbing, and while squeezing, apply a twist to dislodged it from the ribs. Then shake it gently to allow the clog to fall out into a dust pan or trash can. If the hose is lite, it's likely a foreign body lodged into the tube of the lower housing where the wheel brush forces it up the curved tube with the air vacuum before it reaches the flexible hose. You should be able to clear this by disconnecting the hose from the lower housing, possibly removing a lower faceplate from the wheel brush area, and fish a coat hanger or other flexible but rigid object through the tube to dislodge the debris.

Hello,i have a vacuum cleaner but their is no air pressure in it

Do you mean the suction is very low? Or really none at all?
If low, there can be a hair/dust ball clogging the tube way deep. If you can remove it and the vacuum cleaner has an 'blow air' out you could connect the tube and blow the junk out possibly. The clog could be inside the unit instead.

If no suction at all then it's probably a complete disconnected tube somewhere.

My portable ice maker quit working. The water is not getting to the top ice maker part. The model # MCM30SST. The motor sounds like it is working.

If you have recently moved the fridge, you may have rolled the fridge on top of the water line. This would restrict the water flow to the regulator. If the water line is not pinched, then the regulator is bad. You can replace it for around $25 with a universal part, or pay $50 for the original.

Thank,
Jim

Will not produce ice cubes......not freezing correctly

Golly Dang. We've been using our freezer all these years, not knowing the vacuum was supposed to make the ice. And while we're at it, does anybody have a good ice recipe? We lost ours in a fire.

We have the water hooked up at the back of machine. there is a spout for the water to come in and fill the ice tray.but is does not. If we turn the water on it fills up the space under the ice basket. I...

The water inlet valve on the back of unit opens when the ice maker needs water. If the valve doesn't seal good because of sediment or wear it will continue to drip and when the water reaches the ice maker supply tube it will freeze blocking the fill tube.. You can take the water line off the valve and watch to see if it drips.
With the fill tube blocked with ice the water can drip down the back wall or drip into the ice bin or just stop up. You can use a hairdryer to thaw the tube out.

My Kenmore Progressive is making a noise that sounds as if something is blocking the suction. I have checked the tubes and can't find any obvious blockages

Have you changed out the bag? Checked the air filters? When you run it and hold your hand over the hose opening, do you feel suction?
Check the head for blockages, you said the tubes are good, so check the hose, if no obstructions there, open the canister and check the bag, if it's full change it, if not, pull it out and check the filter that's under the bag, if it's not clogged re-run the above steps but this time look for possible vacuum leaks. Let me know if this helps.
