Hi,

1. off the upper and lower ends with flat plastic or apadded flat head screw driver so as not to scratch your stainless steel. Atwisting wrist action will suffice. 2. Now the screws are exposed, you can re-tighten them. 3. Replace the plastic covers starting with the base whichhas a small plastic the goes into a slot in the main handle. Then glide therest forward and it snaps in effortlessly.

On the side of each handle are 2 setscrews. Use a 2.5 mm Allen wrench to loosen or tighten the handle.

Tighten door handles on a 2000 ge refrigerator side by side

The retaining screws are often concealed by pieces of trim that have to be located and carefully prised out. This is particularly true with the single door fridge that can be converted from left to right opening but in the case of a side-by-side where the handles are considered permanent fixtures it is possible the handles were fitted to the doors before the door liners were fitted.

The door on the freezer is loose

Using a putty knife, I pried the long plastic cover off the handle on the portion that was loose. That exposed the torx screw. When I attempted to tighten it, it turned without tightening, so I removed the screw. I pushed the thin metal trim piece away from the hole and squeezed crazy glue unto the hole. I let that dry. Then I was able to tighten the screw. I replaced the cover.

Loose door handle

I just FINALLY fixed mine...  Popped little cover pieces off top and bottom of handle with a plastic bread bag tag slid along space created by loose handle (did not scratch finish on door).  That exposed the screws which could be tightened with a phillips screw driver; the cover pieces then snap back on the ends of the handle.

Door handle is loose on model#gsh22jftacc. how do you tighten?

If it's the same as the one we have (which is similar to the pic posted on yours) there's a plastic piece on the top and bottom of the handle that you have to pry up (gently) to get to them.
It looks like a line that runs horizontal across the handle, but it should come up with a little force (meaning it shouldn't require tools). You have to pry it from the side, not the top or bottom.

the screws are sometimes hidden by a metal or plastic trim. you can take the trim off with a butter knife (usually).

try removing the handle, that will expose the mounts for the handle. You should be able to tighten them after removing the handle.

Ge profile refrigerator door handle is loose

I had this problem on this model and just repaired it.... and I am no mechanic. The bottom of the handle was loose. You'll see there is a cap on the top and bottom of the handle. You need to pop the cover off of the end that is loose. For the bottom part of the handle, I used a flat head screwdriver under the most southern portion of the handle, lifted the handle of the screwdriver towards me. The cover popped with minimal effort. Tighten the screw and replace cover. Pretty, pretty, pretty easy!
