Does this unit have a water filter on it. may want to check filter if so alot of times when you turn water off there will be some sediment /trash come through system and could get lodges in line, filter assembly.. change filter out... you may also have some debri at water valve remove water line from vale and then check connection for any sediment prior to reconnecing turn water on to line holding a glass to catch the water. reconnect adn wait 6- 8 hours to see if ice maker fills with water...you can jump ice maker out by removing front cover and advancing timer.

Floor was soaked with water then our icemaker quit working. what could be wrong

I had that happen and it turned out the cat had bitten through the water line that feeds water to the icemaker. Water had gushed out of the line onto the floor and since the icemaker couldn't get any new water to make ice with, it quit working. A clog, the line simply coming disconnected or a different kind of pet going after the line could also cause this problem. Luckily, a new line isn't expensive, and if you rub some habanero sauce on it, the cats and the rabbits both leave it alone.

I have a whirlpool side by side w/ice and water thru the door.model#ED5JHEXTQ00.WATER THRU THE DOOR WORKS FINE BUT WILL NOT FILL ICE MAKER.ANY SUGGESTIONS ?...

Note that the temperature in the freezer must be below 10 degrees F for the icemaker to cycle. The icemaker line is the smaller line (1/4") located in the back of the machine that runs from the valve to the filll tube. To test the valve and icemaker you have to manually advance the ice maker and wait for it to call for water with the 1/4" line disconnected from the valve. You can do this by getting a jumper wire, removing the cover of icemaker, which you jsut grab and pull off, and using the jumper wire insert one end of the wire into the cirle marked "M" and the other in the cicle marked "N". Leave there until you hear a click and sometimes see a little spark behind the modular head wheel. Also if you see ice in the maker that hasn't dumper and the teeth of the icemaker are facing any direction other than two o clock position, the icemaker is bad. Before doing any of the above though check the fill tube to be sure the no ice is blocking water from coming in.

Ice maker isnt working after moving homes

Did you hook up the water line in the back? Check the lever on the icemaker to be in down position? Just starters.

Installed new ice maker, produces ice slow, is there a way to adjust for faster or slower?

The water tube to the icemaker inside the refrig is frozen up. Thaw out with your hair dryer. To make sure the tube is clear. Shut of the water to the refrig, disconnect the inlet water line to the icemaker. Insert a flexable through the connector fitting, I used a zip tie. The flexable item should go all the way to the icemaker

Ice maker not producing ice, already check the basic problems,

The water tube to the icemaker inside the refrig maybe frozen up. Thaw out with your hair dryer. To make sure the tube is clear. Shut of the water to the refrig, disconnect the inlet water line to the icemaker. Insert a flexable through the connector fitting, I used a zip tie. The flexable item should go all the way to the icemaker

Solution #2 Replace the "water inlet valve" at bottom back right of refrig. Easy To Do.

My ice maker is not making ice

Before you replaced the Water Valver - Shut your water off - disconnect the water line to the from the back of the refrigerator at the top where it goes into the icemaker. I used zip tie or something flexable to see if it would go all the way through to the
tube inside the refrig. If you have obstruction - use your hair dryer
to thaw the ice from inside the refrigerator tube. When the flexable goes all the way through. Hook back the water line to the icemaker. You will have ice soon. If Nor, you will need a new water inlet valve.

Water leaking from icemaker on outside

If this is your water dispenser leaking
Your water inlet valve on the back where the water supply comes in is probably leaking. disconnect the water line coming out of it and see if you have a slow drip. Try the dispenser to see if it's just drips after use.

Ice maker not getting water in the line

The only other component stopping the valve from putting water into your icemaker is the icemaker itself. Replace your icemaker and you should solve your problem.
