Question about Lexmark P4350 All-In-One InkJet Printer

Hi I am getting horizontal lines when printing.

Hi I am getting horizontal lines when printing. I have just correctly replaced the two print cartridges and have used the troubleshooting tool on the lexmark page to "Clean to fix horizontal streaks" a few times but this has not rectified the issue. I am using genuine Lexmark cartridges suited to our printer. Any suggestions gratefully received. Thank you in advance :)

Scratches on card when printing

Hello. There is a difference between horizontal and vertical lines. Horizontal lines means you might have burned your headset. If the lines go all the way horizontally and the line has the same thikness, you should replace the headset.
If its irregular lines you probably have one of the following problems:
a) Too much temperature in your printer driver(Go to printer settings and play with the darkness setting until you reach a good printing)
b) You are printing grey colors, which are always a problem with Datacards
c) Have a look at your supplies, maybe you are buying a not so-standard brand and the cards have some polution

Hello,
one idea is that you rouined printhead with tap water and second idea is to buy new print head or printer.
Note: If you want to replace ink head, be sure to replace purge unit and ink absorber also.

This evening I bought a new HP Photosmart C4780 printer. I am trying to print photos now and the photos are being printed with small vertical lines across the whole photo. How do I get rid of them?

> I bought a new printer

Take it back, and get one that does work correctly.

> VERTICAL lines ACROSS the whole photo

Hold the paper in "portrait" mode, not "landscape" mode.
Are the lines HORIZONTALLY-ACROSS the paper,
or VERTICALLY-DOWN the paper?

If those lines are WHITE and HORIZONTAL,
then some of the many ink-jets inside the print-head are *CLOGGED*.
Run a "print-head-cleaning-cycle" to try to unclog it.
Or, exercise the WARRANTY, and get it replaced.

Canon MP980 prints horizontal pink lines across

try to change the color ink. horizontal banding (the pink or other color lines appearing means horizontal banding) when there is a problem on one of the heating element of the printer head. since almost all canon printers have head built in the inks, replacing the faulty ink will solve the problem. if not then the controller of printhead on the carriage and mainboard needs to be checked.

Horizontal colored lines through grayscale printed photos

Hi George,

It sound's like an ink-feed issue:

1) Dirty heads, even after cleaning
2) No-ink or poor quality ink
3) Damaged head: some are part of the cartridge, some are not
4) Air bubbles in ink

The test page is typically not as hi-res nor as saturated as a
photo print. The hi-res photo puts the greatest demand on the print head.

The color lines you see are actually lines of missing color,
where the head has failed to deposit ink, so one or two primary
colors are missing from the complete picture.

For example missing yellow will make a blue line.
Missing magenta will make a green line
Missing cyan will make a red line.... etc..

Clean the heads again and again, print again and again,
hoping to flush the system.

BUT, keep in mind that cleaning wastes huge amounts of
ink and tiny little cartridges of ink cost more than many new printers.

Horizontal lines in pictures

If you are using original cartridges then there should not be a problem. The horizontal lines come from the cartridge. Can you pinpoint if it is a color or black line that is missing? My guess is that during the alignment procedure, you are asked to choose a number or letter that corresponds to picture of a the lines that show the best alignment. If you did this correctly, may I ask how many pictures you printed before seeing that line. Is it on the first print or 10th printing? Cuz if it is on the 5th or more full color picture, then the problem is that you you really have the wrong printer. The F380 capacity for printing full color pictures is miniscule. 1 ml per color. So usually after the 3rd color picture, the ink starts to run out. Let me know if this helps.

Printing lines

Hi. I've been looking for a solution to this very same problem, but I think that the only way to fix it is to replace the print head. I've spent a few hours now trying to find out if there is something else which could cause this problem, and the only one that applies to me (and to you, if you replaced all of your ink cartridges), is that the print head is no longer working. I found a print head for $50 at http://www.precisionroller.com/k_canon_i560_print_head/m114d5908c104/ , so I'll probably go that route.
