I found that by simultaneously holding down the remote control "power" button and "volume" button for about 30 seconds the blinking light would go out and a solid green light would come on. Even though the solid green light came on the unit would still not power up. After doing this several times however the unit did finally power up in a normal mode and appears to be working again

After changing a defective capacitor, my TV still would not power up. After using the solution above, I held the power and volume up button down on the TV itself for several seconds, the TV powered up normally. I did notice that you had to do this while the timer light was flashing. Doing so after it went out was not effective. I initially only replaced one capacitor which was noticeably defective, and the flashing green timer light eventually returned. I will be replacing all 7 capacitors and resetting the TV as described above. Several people have mentioned replacing the capacitors didn't fix the problem. It appears that you must replace and reset using this method to repair these TVs.

Mitsubishi vs55705 tv will not turn on

Two things here:

1. This set MAY have the self check feature if made after 1999 or so: if power light (green?) comes on for a few seconds and goes off---on front of set press and hold both the input and menu buttons at same time for at least 5 seconds and release both.

If it has the feature the power light will blink a two digit error code like 2 blinks, 2 blinks and pause and repeat the code for a total of 5 times.

If set has been unplugged it will clear the buffer of errors--you will have to turn set on and when it fails repeat the test.

If you find an error code let me know what it is.

2. Set is old enough the issue may be one of bad solder connections that develop with age---this will require a different approach--look for error codes if the model has the self check feature already described first.

Every time I turn my HD 1080 series Mitsubishi on 2 1/2 seconds later it turns off by itself

ok, a model number would be helpful but:

when set turns off and green power light goes out: on the front of the set press and hold both the menu and input (device) buttons at the same time for at least five seconds and let both go.

Power light will blink a two digit error code like 2 blinks, 2 blinks, a pause and repeat it for a total of 5 times.

This is the error code and indicates where the problem may be---let me know what code you find and I will tell you what it means.

Tv truns on then turns off

if model indicated do the self check it has:

On front of set when green light for power goes out press and hold both the menu and input (source) buttons at the same time for at least 5 seconds and release both buttons.

Power light will then blink a two digit error code like 2 blinks, 2 blinks a pause and repeat it for a total of 5 times.

If set has been unplugged you must plug it back and try to get set to turn on--unplugging clears the errors.

Let me know what error you find and I will tell you what it means.

Mitshubishi plasma tv ws65869 wont start green led on in a sec off

Not a Plasma by the model number listed.

When green power light comes on and goes off a few seconds later:

Press and hold on the front of the set both the Menu and Input (source) buttons at same time for at least five seconds and let both go.

Power light will blink a two digit error code like: 2 blinks, 2 blinks and a pause and repeat it several times.

If set has been unplugged it clears the errors and you must turn on and when power light goes out repeat.

Let me know error code found and I will help

My Mitsubishi Medallion tv stays on for about 10 minutes and then shuts down and won't turn back on until a period of time has passed. It is a rear projection tv about 9 years old. Can anyone help ex

When it shuts off and the green power light goes off, press both the menu and input buttons on the front of the set (not the remote) and hold both for about five seconds and release.

Power light will blink a two digit error code like 2 blinks and then 3 blinks and repeat it several times.

What is the error code?

My mitsubishi rear projection tv will not stay on

The model number indicated has a self test: when power light goes off at turn on:

on front of set press and hold both menu and input buttons at same time for at least 10 seconds and let go of both.

Power light will blink a two digit error code like 1 blink, 2 blinks a pause and repeat it several times.

What if any error code do you get?

This will narrow the problem to a specific area of the set.

Tv turns itself off

do the self test the set has.

when green light (power) comes on and then goes off, press and hold BOTH the Menu and Input buttons for at least 5 seconds and release both buttons on the front of the set.

The power light will display a error code: for example 2 blinks, a pause and 2 blinks (this is the most common one) and it will repeat the code about 5 times.

To get it to repeat it you have to unplug set, plug it back in and turn it one and when it fails repeat the check.

Let me know what error code you find and I will tell you what may be wrong. I hope it is 2,2 as it is the least difficult to resolve.

When I turn on my tv it will shut off

Model number is WT-46809?

If set comes on for a moment and then goes off(green power light)

ON THE FRONT OF THE SET PRESS BOTH menu AND input at the same time and hold both buttons in for at least 5 seconds---then release both buttons.

Watch the power light---it should blink a two digit code---ERROR CODE---
The most common is 2 blinks, a pause and 2 blinks-----set will repeat the error code about 10 times.

If you find this error code let me know the blinks and I will tell you what it means and may be able to tell you what is needed to correct it.

Mitsubishi ws-73711 turns on (I see a green power light) then off

press and hold 'device ' and 'menu' buttons on front of tv until the power light starts to blink out an error code . It will blink a few then pause and....repeat.. . Count the blinks. It is giving a two digit error code and repeating it 3 or 4 times. 22=low voltage short detected usually caused by the convergenge amp I.C. .12=normal

Cant remember how to tune it in

  1. Turn on your TV.
  2. On your Tune In remote, press TV and release.
  3. Press and hold Set until the green light on Tune In blinks once, pauses and then blinks twice. Now release the Set key.
  4. Enter the first three-digit TV code for your Sanyo from the list which follows:
    154, 159
These codes are listed in order of popularity, and the green light will blink twice if you perform this procedure correctly.
  5. Aim Tune In at your TV and press Power. Your TV should turn off. If it does not, repeat steps 2-5, trying each code listed in step 4 until you find the one that operates your TV.
Now Test Your TVWhy test? Many times more than one code appears to work. Testing is desirable to be sure you have the correct code for your TV or the other devices you are setting up.
  1. Press the Power key to turn on the TV, then press mute, channel scan ("CH") and volume ("VOL") keys. Tune channels 7 and 11 by entering the number followed by the Enter key.
  2. If your TV does not pass the test, return to Step 2 at the top of this page. Enter the next three-digit code and repeat the process.
