I would check all threaded fitting and tighten any that are loose. Make sure that tank drain does not have some rust or other debris that would stop it from closing completely. Check for any pinholes or cracks in air hoses.A easy way to find leaks on a air hose is to use large tub or bucket filled with water and run hose thru it and look for bubbles.
Also check o-rings on pressure reulator for any wear, and emergency blow down valve is soequipped.I hope this helps you some. Thank you

It must have a leak somewhere or be rotating in the wrong direction? Is it wired up correctly.Hyrovane compressors usually run quickly is the motor spinning well.

My 5 hp compessor does not reach the 90 # psi & shutdown I don't hear the hissy sound that it use to make but can hold the re-set button to get up to the 90psi. why is the motor stopping b4 re

well part of the reason air compressors usually stop reaching full capacity when they get older is either due to water in the bottom of the tank or the seals in the tank not holding it as well. you need to make sure you have the motor bolted down tight still and that nothing is pumpoing out air from the top of the compressor except the exhaust of course. compressors are pretty simple there's not much to them either so there's less to go wrong or troubleshoot.

I have a 2 gallon compressor , no air comes out?

Check if air intake is clogged.
Check if drain valve on tank bottom is open or closed.
Look at pressure gauge and see if pressure is zero.
Adjust pressure so tank will hold 80-120 psi.
Check air lines between compressor and tank to see if they are leaking. Listen for leaking air while motor is running.

I have a Clarke 150 ltr compressor and the original pressure switch broke so I replaced it with another one. When I start it, it builds pressure fine upto 150 psi (is this right) and then cuts out. Then...

no, Its sounds like you have a receiver tank check valve bad. This valve is designed to hold pressure in the tank . there should be a line on the side of the check valve that goes to the pressure switch. This allows air trapped from the top of the check valve to the compressor to escape so when the compressor starts it does not have to start against pressure in the system. Loosen the line at the check valve or the pressure switch. if it blows until the unit starts or drains the receiver tank if not powered up replace the receiver tank check valve.

Compressor will only build pressure to 75 psi and stop and compressor keeps running what could be wrong

If you can hear air bleeding off through the air filter when you turn it off then the check valve has failed on the compressor discharge to tank line and cannot overcome the tank pressure. If there is no air coming out through the air filter than the intake and dischare valves have become weak or are broken/not seating. Post your findings, I wil see if i can help I worked on compressors for 5+ years

Hard starting does this model have an unloader

There are two types of unloaders used on IR compressors. One is oil pressure controlled, and second is manually activated for starting. According to the photo and model number provided, yours is manually operated. Follow air line from compressor to tank. The pilot valve (brass valve) between airline and tank is a multi-function component. There is a flip leaver or pull ring w/ hold that unloads the compressor by venting air thru small muffler. The valve also contains the check-valve holding pressure in the tank, a means of adjusting pressure and controlls throttle for engine. For easy start, flip leaver upright and start; to run, flip leaver to right angle of stem.

Air is leaking through high pressure side of IR type 30 T7 compressor and out the intake filter,,what is the cause of this? Bad valve?

Air compressors generally use a check valve at the tank to prevent loading of the compressor at start of cycle. Easy to check. With unit powered off and pressure in tank remove fitting from compressor to tank and test for leak. Check valve is uaually brass or steel and can be removed and sometimes cleaned. If faulty, replace with generic valve available thru WWW.grainger.com. If you find that your airline from pump to tank is full of carbon deposits, you will most likely need to clean airline and decarbon headvalve area. Even is tank checkvalve is leaking, valves at head should hold pressure. Since your pumps leaks thru intake indicates valves are not holding pressure. Good luck with your prepair.

Starting and stopping of air compressor ( no leaks)

This can depend on many variables . (1) How big the air tank of the compressor is, (2) how many PSI the compressor is set to hold, and (3) how many PSI your air gun uses per shot. If you gun is rated at a very high PSI and your compressor has a small tank and low PSI, you may want to consider investing in a larger tank.

Air compressor leaking

The problem that you are having is caused by the in tank check valve not holding the tank pressure. Simple test is to carefully loosen air-hose that feeds air to tank and check for air leaking. Replace check valve if leaking. Generic parts may be used. Enjoy
