Question about Polaroid 4641-TLXB 46 in. LCD Television

1 Answer

When we run the satellite through a DVD player, the volume works fine. When we don't, we get bad static and popping. Dish Network has replaced the remote and the DVR, so it appears to be the TV.

I would assume the problem would be either in the cabling or the DVD player. Have you tried running thecable straight from th receiver to the tv?

My tv will play sound, but no picture. The picture is just a scrolling fuzzy/static screen. My dvd player works fine, but the dish receiver will not show picture. Please help!!

Hi kristin_mell,

If you are hearing audio but no picture unplug the receiver for 10 seconds and plug back in. This will reset the receiver and it will reboot itself for you once plugged in. This should resolve the issue, but if you continue to experience problems please e-mail me at nick.franta@dishnetwork and we may need to replace the receiver.

We get bad static and popping when we use the remote to control the volume. When we run the satellite through a DVD player, we don't. Dish Network has replaced the DVR and the remote. Any thoughts?

There could be a few things causing this problem, but here are some things to try. If you get no popping while running the DISH through a DVD player, that usually will indicate a cabling issue. The issue being with the cable you use to run the receiver straight to the tv. I would try to replace that cable. Another thing you can try is to try another input on the back of the tv for the cable. Such as, if your cable is in the HDMI 1 or Video 1 location on the tv, then try HDMI 2 or VIDEO 2. Sometimes the individual ports on the tv for the cables start going bad, and this will happen.

Dish network remote to run RCA DVD player

I had rca remote that did not recieve ir signals but rf signals instead. Check online with rca or in owners manual for what type of signal factory remote sends. The dvd player I had was 5 dvd and that was the case. Dish might have an option like direct tv where you can program rf signals as well. Call dish network support or look online

Tv has sound but no picture.

If it works on DVD but not on your Dish, and when you connected it to another house it had the same problem then it sounds like your input connection is bad on the TV. That is if I am understanding this right. From what I am reading your Dish network is not showing a picture but the audio is working fine. The DVD player works fine on the TV though. Then you took the TV and hooked it to another dish system and it was the same problem. That sounds to me like you TV is having a problem, either that or the cables for your Dish network are bad. Try switching to a different input, like the one the DVD player is on and seeing if it works there. If not, then the cables are bad and you just need to replace the cables. If it does work though where the DVD was working before then your TV input is bad on that port you were hooked to before.

Let me know if you have any other questions and if this was helpful. If you need some more clarification let me know, I hope this is helpful. Good luck and have a good weekend. Get it fixed before the Super Bowl.

Poping in speakers

Same issue with my AVR-589...2-15 minutes after sound is playing (via TV or DVD). I checked all wires and speakers. Even reconfigured to audio only (analog) coming in, same issue. Put my old Denon receiver in and the problem disappears...possible overheating issue with this new unit?

Changing Channels

Unfortunately, no. The tuner in your DVD recorder works differently than how your satellite receiver works. You *must* use the satellite receiver to select the active channel, and then send that channel to one of the inputs on your recorder. You can then record that channel. Unless your satellite receiver is has "dual tuners" in it, you are stuck watching the same channel that the DVD recorder is recording. If your goal is primarily time-shifting of shows (as opposed to archiving shows forever to DVD), you might consider getting a different satellite receiver with a built-in DVR (hard disk recorder). These allow you to mark shows in advance, have them recorded to the hard drive, and then you can watch them whenever you want, skipping all the commercials. You also get the ability to pause and rewind live TV.
