Facebook users can post what's going on in their lives in a very public way on other users' pages. If you don't want everyone to read your musings, you can send a private message to a friend's Facebook in-box. This feature is a convenience that can be safer than sharing your own personal email address or personal information online. Like any email client, you can keep Facebook email after you've read it, or choose to delete it from your account. But with Facebook, the email is irretrievable after you delete it. Other

I want to delete my Facebook account

Hi.

There are at least two different ways to delete a Facebook account.

The "soft" way:

Go to your Facebook account setting page and set account as deactivated. The account will be suspended and content will not be accessible to other users anymore. This is not still enough for deletion. After deactivation you must not access anymore your account, or the account will not be deleted. A deactivated account will be definitively deleted after two-four weeks with no access. If you change your mind, all you have to do is logging in. The Facebook account will be immediately reactivated.

The "hard" way:

This will submit a request for immediate complete deletion of the account. All the content will be immediately deleted once your request is processed. If you would like your account permanently deleted with no option for recovery, log in to your account and then submit your request here. Of course you need a Facebook account to delete one. The page will ask you to log in with your facebook ID and password.

See also:

Help Center ' Facebook

Privacy - Facebook Help Center

How to Cancel My Facebook Account

How to permanently delete Facebook

How do I delete a letter accidentally put on Facebook. It was sent to a Facebook "friend which will put it on for public perusAl. Please help me prevent that from happening. How can I delete it out of...

Some of this depends on how you posted it to Facebook in the first place. Notes and private messages can be deleted fairly easily by navigating to the item in question. The exact location oft he controls depends on how far along the latest set of changes your account is. However if it has been shared or copied this might be harder.

If someone else posted your content then you will need to ask Facebook to remove it the grounds of Copyright AND privacy infringement.

With more details I can give a more exact answer.

I have been trying to get on facebook but everytime I try an error message from Internet Explorer pops up saying "cannot display webpage" Please help

Open Internet Explorer, click on tools then internet options. In the first tab, under browsing history select delete... have check marks in everything except Form data, Passwords, and InPrivate Filtering data. Now click delete. Depending on how full you histroy is, this can take a bit to complete. Once completed, close IE and try to log back into facebook. If this still does not work, search for facebook on google, and try again. If the search option works, delete you current shortcut to facebook and re-add from the open page.

I hope this helps

WARNING - THIS PERMANENTLY DELETES YOUR FACEBOOK ACCOUNT!

Facebook offers an option for those who want their account deleted with no chance of recovery. Facebook will ask you to confirm the action, so you will have to click on another OK button again.

To finish this process you must avoid logging in to your account during the next 14 days. For Mozilla, on your Mozilla browser, press hold down CTRL SHFT then DEL keys. Under TIME RANGE select Everything. Tick all the boxes then click Clear Now.
