It's a Fn key combination on the keyboard.
Press and hold the Fn key down and then press the key with the crescent moon icon it.

This is the equivalent of the sleep button.

Are you sure this happens when the laptop is shutdown? According to what I know, this happens when the laptop or any other computer is in sleep mode.

To check if your laptop is sleeping, press any key on your key board.

Or

If this continues, try this.

when your laptop is on, click on the charge icon on the right side of your task-bar. You will see where it says "change what the power button does" from here you can some how fix your problem

Location sleep button

Usually the sleep button and the power button are one and the same. If you are running Windows, you can go into the control panel. select power options and then choose what pressing the power button will do.... you may choose hibernate, sleep or shutdown. If I knew the model of your computer and operating system, I could provide a more detailed solution.

Where is the sleep button on an HP pavilion dv7 laptop?

Laptops dont have a sleep button per se.
You have to look for a FN + key combination that has the same color as your FN key and probably a figure that means sleep.

I have a dell lattitude LS when i press the SLEEP button on my laptop iy does not sleeps

Sleep button may be disabled. Go to control panel and double click "POWER OPTIONS" find the control property that says "When i push the sleep button on my computer..." this should give you the idea.

OR keyboard drivers were not installed properly on your laptop. Go the the dell website and download the necessary drivers for your laptop keyboard to enable the buttons.

Hope this helps!
