Remove the gas flow solenoid valve, bench test or have it tested and or replace. Follow the gas line to machine .This should be your gas solenoid If solenoid works fine, there must be a wire broken going it to itbut most likely tthe solenoid is bad.

Set the "arc balance" control between 40-50, also. You need to be up around 200-220 amps too. Make sure you're using 3/32 tungsten (green, red) and running about 25-30 cfh on your argon. Ball that end on the tungsten.

Gas keeps running after you let off the foot pedal on synchrowave 250

Hi:

The normal set up on the 250 syncrowave will allow you to control your pre and post flow of gas. If the post flow is set up to more than 2 seconds that's the problem. If it is set on zero, then you have a leaky solenoid valve. Check your owners manual for troubleshooting anf repair.

Miller syncrowave 250 tigrunner with gas flow

Your problem is in one of two areas. The controller board inside the unit or a bad trigger on your gun.

Tig my pudle melts into gray not shinny

Ensure you have the correct angle when using the torch = 22-24 degrees from vert: this will provide good gas coverage. setting should be 15 - 20 ltrs using a "flow meter".clean the material thoroghly then weld , dont clean then leave for a long time.
Argon gas sometimes can be contaminated and cause heavy soot on the weld bead,
TIG electrode should be Zirconiated with a rounded end not pointed.
Use forehand ,method

TIG welder help

Choose the electrode to use for the project you are starting as well as the variety of alloys you'll use such as the 6061 Aluminum alloy electrode. Grind the electrode to a point. Try to create a tip and sharpen it to help it become more rounded as you weld. Place the electrode into an electrode holder with the tip about 1/4-inch away from the sheath. Choose the settings on your tig welder. The three main ones are AC, DCEP and DCEN. Choose AC for aluminum. Slide the "cleaning/penetrating" slider more to the penetrating side. Set the "air on" to five seconds and the "max amps" to 250. Turn on the gas. For aluminum, use pure argon. For steel, an argon and carbon dioxide mix. Scrub your welding table or flat piece of sheet metal with a wire brush to make it clean and flat. Gear up in full welding safety gear including hood, goggles, apron and gloves. Hold the electrode in your dominant hand and start your welding project. Check your settings every so often to make sure they haven't changed and adjust as needed.
