How do i redirect the boot manager on PRESARIO CQ56

Its all depends on your bios version but basically you need to press F12 or F2 When it starts up. Its the key to access your boot / configuration manager. you can choose your first booting device from the boot menu.

I restarted my Toshiba satellite a305 and now it won't boot up or go into safe mode. It comes to the start up screen that says press f2 for setup f12 for boot manager. It will let me go into setup and boot...

If it won't let you go to safe mode, then there's something that the BIOS(setup) or Boot Manager needs before starting the operating system(Windows Vista). You should have a Toshiba Recovery Disk which will fix this . The disk will not touch any of your current files and data,so don't worry about that.

Toshiba Satellite a135-s4427 Boot Manager Missing

its not the hard drive my frined, its the boot loader it has been deleted or it has been compressed the only way to fix this is to use the recovery cd you have, to boot from cd-rom you need to go into bios which is usualy F2 or F5 key, then under boot manager or somthing is the primary and secondary boot, change the primary to CD-ROM, then save it and restart then it should boot from cd-rom then you have do a start-up recovery.

Boot manager

if this is a boot manager is missing on boot it could deal with either a bad Hard drive or system files/registry corruption on boot. An easy way to get your files is use a BDE program that can view your files off your computer without physically loggin into windows. Second way to do it is take your hard drive out and put it into an external enclosure and access your data that way. If you can get into DOS or command try to type in FIXMBR that fixes the master boot record and could sometimes fix the boot issues. After you get your Data I would recommend Running a program called DFT, its free and you can google it and burn it to a cd and boot off of it. This program will test your hard drive and if it passes a full advanced test then you have no hardware problems and should continue to perform an Operating system Install or Full system recovery with factory supplied disks. Hope this helps your question.
