Start --> programs --> File Explorer --> Windows --> CtlPanel --> Scanner Settings --> Scan Params --> Change Wav file and Start Wav file to some other sound. Thats the only way i've found to quiet it down.

Robin: where is the cable that the beeper is attached to? how do i access it? thank you :) !

You need to remove the bottom plastic shroud assembly to find the round black beeper that is plugged into the controller. This is the shroud where your feet sit and is usually secured with four screws. Once you remove the seat and battery box it is easy to locate the screws. Some may be hidden by the floor mat.

No sound when finished cooking. No beeping...just silence!

On most ovens, the beeper (small speaker or piezo-electric element) is part of the main control panel. Verify that this is the case. If so, you would likely have to replace the board, or find an electronic technician who can troubleshoot at component level. Due to the likely cost, my best suggestion would be to just put up with it until you have a more costly failure. Then, replace the microwave.

How can I silence the beeper on a Sharp Carousel microwave model R2A47?

Reset it, disconnect the power cord by 1 minute and try again.

If this does not resolve the problem. the problem is control board.

God bless you

Turn off sound

If the owner's manual doesn't offer that as an option, there are three ways:
- desolder the piezoelectric element (beeper)
- cut one of both of its leads
- snap it out of the circuit board (see video)

Is there a wy to disconnect the beeper?

Looking at the owner's manual, there is no shutoff listed.

One way to make it quieter is to put a piece of electrical tape over the piezoelectric beeper.

To silence it, you would need to cut one connection to it, desolder it, or simply break it off.

First, try the manual. It may have an option in some menu you can choose. Failing that, find the beeper and simply cut the wire. No harm there. Remember to cut off power before opening any panels!

to reduce cost, many manufacturers have trimmed off many "extra" functions. i believe your unit had the feature to silence settings change removed to reduce cost. if you think you are up to it, do the following: open it, find the alarm beeper (may be on a circuit board) then cut one wire leading to it. if on circuit board then crush the beeper with vice grips if cannot de-solder it
