If the Wii has not been dropped or over heated and was working fine I would make sure it's plugged directly in the socket to avoid a shortage and check to see if it will boot from a socket with no extensions or other outlets. The Wii require a certain amount of wattage and any shortage will prevent it from working from personal experience. If that doesn't solve the problem I would contact Ninetendo for technical support.
