Question about HP Compaq Evo Notebook N1015v

1 Answer

Sound Hello, I have a Compaq Evo N1015v laptop and all of sudden since yesterday I have no sound. My husband is in Washington on business for 2 weeks and we utilize Skype/Logitech webcam so he can chat with our children. Since yesterday we can hear him, but he cannot hear us. This has never happened before and we need help. All sound is on and nothing is muted, but still he cannot hear us. I already uninstall/reinstalled Logitech. What can we do? Please advise

Yes, all settings were checked and all volumes for sound were turned on high and nothing was muted. Does that help?

Well there might be some problem with ur microphone stuff..
if u use an ecternal microphone, then try to plug it out & then plug it back in

Compaq evo n1015v will not boot up when power is pressed

For this kind of issue, please follow up the following steps to check:

1.confirm the battery and ac adapter connect the laptop normally.Maybe the bad connect lead to this problem. If there are no lights when you turn on laptop, one of possible reason is that your adapter is malfunction.

2.the second possible cause is laptop dc jack failure. If the dc jack is broken or loose, you are required to replace it or repair it.

3.Another possible reason is that there is something wrong with laptop motherboard. For this situation, it includs two kinds of possibility,a failure in an electronic circuit and BGA malfunction.

For more detailed reasons and solutions, please have a look at the following article:http://www.ifitjams.com/lappower.htm

If you verify your laptop adapter is dead and you plan to order a new one, I recommend one for you on the basis of your laptop model:

How do I turn on the wifi feature on my Compaq H1015v Lap top

According to the product specifications on HP/Compaqs website, this model Evo does not have wireless built in, only modem and ethernet ports are the means for getting online. A wireless usb card can be used to get wireless. Specs can be found here -

If am making call with my Compaq Evo N1015v the side will not hear me but i hear them

you need to check you have a microphone, and if so go to your optons in your programm you use and set it up. most web cams come with mics built in and the programmes usually sort it automatically, if this is not the case you will need to do it manually. or you can get headphones with a microphone.

I have a compaq evo n1015v laptop which comes on fine but cant really see the screen, very very dull, have changed the screen but still does the same thing???

The luminiscent tube is not powered or defective. Check the connection between the laptop and inverter board (small pc board at the bottom of the screen), between the lamp and the inverter board, the fuse of the inverter board and the lamp itself.
I use guaranteed working lamp to check if the inverter works. After that I check the lamp of the laptop powering it with another inverter, taken from a broken scanner. Inverter boards are very common and you can easily find replacement on ebay. Be careful with the voltage going to the lamp. It is very high and you can easily burn the inverter or your finger. Remove the power and the battery before opening any covers.
