Sorry to hear about your problem.

Sounds like you have a defrost issue. Hence your unit is not defrosting. All of this apply's if your freezer side has ice on it. If not. you have other issues, this does sound funny, but this is why your refrigerator side is warm, or not cooling.

Here is a list of some things that can go wrong.
1. Defective heat coil
2. Defective defrost timer
3. Defective defrost sensor
4. Defective Fan
5. Defective compartment inlet damper (on some models)

You should call a service company to resolve your issue.

Since I tried to help you, Please help me and Rate/Vote on the response. Thanks

I don't think this is a defrost issue. Rather, I believe it is somehow a leak from the water supply, but i'm not sure. i'm trying to figure out why im getting a leak. one thing i was wondering... i haven't replaced my water filter in 16 months. someone suggested if it is clogged, that could be the issue. any other thoughts would be really appreciated.

well if thats the case just turn off the water, and if unit is defrosting the water/freeze will go away.

Leaking ice maker inside freezer

You didn't say -- was this freezer working correctly for some time before this problem?

It's not unusual for an ice buildup in the icemaker itself to divert water to places it's not supposed to be. The only fix for that is to turn of the freezer (you may have to turn of the refrigerator, too), and completely defrost the freezer. Leave the refrigerator door closed and it will stay reasonably cold. It may take a couple of hours to fully defrost - put some towels in the bottom, as it sounds like you'll have some ice buildup to deal with. You can speed that up a lot with a hair dryer. Just turn it on high, and direct it at the ice buildup, and then concentrate on the icemaker and the area around it.
If you can, inspect the icemaker area and make sure the fill tube is directed into the ice tray, and hasn't gotten bumped or moved so it's pouring water elsewhere.
Once the freezer is completely thawed out and all the water mopped up, start it up again and cross your fingers.

My Jenn Air Model No# JSD2789DES Refrigerator does not stal cold and freezer is not freezing anything...I noticed in the back of freezer the wall was covered in ice. It was working fine the other day...

Ice building up in the freezer is not good, it means that your defrost heater is not working. The purpose of the defrost heater, as the name implies, is to prevent ice from building up on the evaporator that is inside the freezer compartment. The heater and/or thermostat failure is responsible for the ice building up in the freezer. Replacing both of is recommended, but if the heater shows continuity with an ohmmeter, just replace the thermostat; if in doubt, replace both of them and your refrigerator should be back to normal. Do not forget to clean the refrigerator condenser fins.

Can't get ice bucket back into place to make ice...what are we doing wrong.

First, turn the icemaker off by raising the wire "bar" that is attached to the icemaker until it clicks into the raised position.

Second, if your freezer has an ice dispenser system, make note of the position of the drive gear at the back of the freezer. It will have two prongs that will need to mate with the icemaker bucket. If they aren't lined up with the icemaker bucket auger, then turn the auger by hand until it will line up with the prongs.

Finally, check for a stray ice cube resting inside the freezer, either on the back wall or on the side rails where the bucket rests.

Refrigerator side doesn't keep things cold, just cool, despite having it on the coldest setting and the cold vent open between the freezer. The freezer is working fine.

Look on the back wall of the freezer for a ice buildup. If there is ice you have a defrost problem. The defrost timer is in the fresh food section inside the control panel. The defrost heater and defrost thermostat are behind the freezer back panel inside the freezer.
Also check the freezer fan. If there is no ice buildup in the freezer the freezer fan motor could be bad.

WE HAVE A GE REFRIGERATOR THAT IS ONE YR OLD AND IT WILL NOT CRUSH ICE. WE'VE REPLACED THE ICE MAKER AND IT STILL WILL NOT CRUSH. IS THE SOLENOID OUT BEHIND THE ICEMAKER ARM IN THE FRIG WALL? GE MODEL...

You may be on the right track. Remove the ice bucket and check the square hole behind the ice bucket in the back wall of the freezer. You should be able to move the horizontal rod in it up and down with your finger. If not, it may be frozen in one position. If so, just warm the area a bit with a hair dryer to free it. Replace ice bucket and test. Another thing which may cause that is the ice auger itself may have separated from the drive shaft. (The icemaker itself has nothing to do with making "crushed" ice. It only makes cubes. The cubes are dispensed or crushed and dispensed at the front of the ice bucket using the auger and the metal parts there.) You might also want to verify that the long metal rod (which extends past the ice bucket and into that square hole) is able to move. (it is spring loaded)

The icemaker makes ice, but it won't dispense.

rmielsen and PhyllisForbe,  Your refrigerator has an auger motor that causes the ice to be dispensed when you press the ice selector on the front of the refrigerator.  You could have several possible problems that will gives you the same result.  The auger motor could be at fault. The ICE selector part of the  control panel of the front of the refrig could be at fault.  To isolate to auger or control... do the following.  Remove the ice bucket or auger assembly from the freezer. Reach into the freezer compartment where the auger assembly normally would be.  You should be able to see a "horse shoe shaped metal drive assembly" that would mesh with the auger assembly (ice bucket) to turn the cork screw shaped auger. Try and turn the auger drive assembly in rear of freezer to determine if motor armature is free.  The is somewhat difficult to do because the auger motor is high torque, slow rpm motor, but it should turn if it is good. Sometimes the auger motor will become stuck due to a water leak, inactivity, high humidity during a defrost cycle, etc.  The more possible suspect is the ICE selector assembly on the front of the refrigerator.  If any function on the refrig fountain dispenser control panel goes bad...then the ice/water control assembly will need to be replaced.  Hopes this helps you!  HandyHenry

Ice Maker Making Noise

sounds like your icemaker is jammed.

first ofall just feel around the icemaker and see if you can find a peice of ice jamming it that you can remove. if that doesnt work heat it up with a blow dryer until any ice that is there will melt away and it will free up..

there is one other possibility: the stripper could be jammed against the side of the icemaker in which case you'll have to remove the icemaker from the refrig and unjam it..

hope that helps and good luck
