Yes but you would have to recover gamer tag. And your brother can never use your profile again. After you recover it you must delete the old one.

Can I transfer downloaded games from my old xbox360 to my new xbox360

If your console was recently repaired or if you've purchased a new console, use the license transfer option on your console to transfer content licenses. Here's how:
  • On your console, sign in to Xbox Live using the gamertag that you used to purchase the content.Don't know your gamertag? See Download, move, or delete your Xbox Live profile.
  • Need to find your Microsoft account? See Find your Microsoft account.
  • Can't remember the password for your Microsoft account? See Recover your Microsoft account password.

  1. Go to Settings and select Account.
  2. Under Your Billing Options, select License Transfer.
  3. Follow the instructions to transfer the content licenses.
  4. After the licenses are transferred, you need to download the content again to update the local licenses. For information about how to do this, see Download content you've previously purchased.
After you follow these steps, content can be used by other profiles on your console and when you're not connected to Xbox Live.

Tip

How to use DLC from another console/gamertag.

Some may already know this, but Xbox now offers a DRM transfer service. This is nice because anyone that's been with Xbox from the beginning has probably had to deal with DRM problems. For those confused let me explain: DRM stands for Digital Rights Management. It holds all the licenses you pay for when you buy DLC (Down-Loadable Content) and it is usually attached to one gamertag or console. Without it we may have the DLC but it is useless and unusable. Now Microsoft has stepped up and made it EASY to transfer DRM. In this Tip I'll walk you through it.

First, here is the website we'll need:
http://www.xbox.com/DRM

You're also going to need the E-mail address and password associated with the gamertag that you used to download the DLC. (It's okay if it is currently a silver account, or had it's gamertag changed)

Also make sure your console can access Xbox Live.

Okay here we go, I'm going to go through the process then describe and explain the steps here.

NOTE: If you're transferring DRMs to a NEW console. Make sure the above mentioned gamertag is already recovered on that console!

Step 1: Sign on to the above mentioned gamertag at the above mentioned website. Now Click begin.

Xbox Disclaimer: "Note: This process will only work on one new console, and can only be performed once every 12 months. Rental licenses will not be transferred." Got that? So don't try jumping around DRMs.

Step 2: The first page should show you a list of the different Xboxs that your gamertag was associated and all of the DLC you've purchased. This transfer will take all of that content and put it on your Xbox. Click Next.

Step 3: Sign in to Xbox Live on your console with the above mentioned gamertag. Click Next. By signing into your console you tell the transfer this is the console you want to have the DRMs.

Step 4: Follow the prompts to download all of your DRMs.

Step 5: If you transferred your DRMs to a new Xbox or if your DLC still isn't working, re-download your DLC. It should be free this time around.

That's about it, you can now once again use your map packs and all of that fun stuff :) Enjoy!

My xbox 360 died and i bought a 2nd hand one. I purchased many arcade games from xbox live and they are saved on the memory pack. i have transfered this over and no it keeps telling me to unlock the games!...

You have to recover your gamertag for these arcade games to be played again, it's like an anti - piracy feature of the Xbox 360System not to allow data transfer wihtout prior notice. On your new Xbox 360 System:

                    • press the xbox guide button
                    • if your are signed in to your profile, you have to sign out first
                    • after signing out, press the Xbox guide button again and select recover gamertag
                    • on the next page, confirm on the prompt and follow the onscreen prompt to recover your gamertag

This should allow you to manage and play your downloaded Xbox Live Arcade Games.

Signed up to xbox via online xbox, not console.

What you should try and do is set up a "guest" profile. I'm assuming you just bought your Xbox and have turned it on for the first time? Hence you need a gamertag to get your Xbox set up.
They simply need to have a profile on there so you can go to the dashboard. (Hence why people usually create their Xbox Live Gold accounts on their actual Xbox 360.
Forget for a moment, that you already have a gamertag. Create a new gamertag (you will automatically get a silver account) once you get to the dashboard, you will be able to go to profiles and the very last option and select "recover gamertag" because at the moment, your gamertag isn't on your actual console yet. Put in the details of your gamertag, password, email etc. And accept the terms & use then recover the gamertag.
I'm not sure, but you may be able to recover your gamertag the very first time you turn on your Xbox (which is what you may be having trouble with). If you could, let me know some more of the details and I could give you a more specific answer.
                    Otherwise:
                    1. Recover gamertag

                    or

                    1. Create a new gamertag (NOT gold, NOT on Xbox.com)
                    2. Recover gamertag through profiles --> recover gamertag

Hope I was of some help.

How can I transfer the content from one gamertag to my new one? I did the license transfer to get the stuff on my new xbox, but I still can't play my downloaded content unless I'm signed in as my original...

                    Hi,

Sorry, there isn't any way to transfer content from one gamertag to another. A license transfer will allow you to download and use content on your new console, but all of that content will still be tied to your original Gamertag.

Corrupt File (microsoft cant let you recover gamertag due to mods hacks and such) that is possibly what has happened. You downloaded a corrupt file and now microsoft has found something wrong. You can no only make a new gamertag and ask for free xbox live for compensation. (you might get it)
