Question about LG Flatron 776FM 17" CRT Monitor

Open Question

Hi. I need to replace the d-sub/VGA cable on my LG Flatron 776FM. But the cable seems to be fixed to the back of the monitor case, so I can't remove it to connect the new cable I have waiting. Is there any way of firstly removing the supplied cable without damaging the monitor, and secondly if/when removed will I be able to use a standard replacement cable? Thanks in advance to anyone who can provide a solution.

You simply need a miniature stereo audio cable.  Radio Shack carries them.

SOURCE: LG Flatron 776FM mic is not working

it is the one that is blue in color and has an L on it for low pressure. The vapor line is also called the suction line. If your confused, then choose the larger of the two lines near the accumulator.

SOURCE: I want to remove the rear cover of the lg flatron

simcraft's link was great ! It has pictures showing the dismantling procedure, but the document is in Chinese and so is the web site where it is located. Please remember that some internal components can retain a dangerous charge of electricity for a few minutes after disconnection from the ac outlet. Wait at least 5 minutes before attempting the disassembly. Try to find the service manual for any other LG LCD in your language and read the safety procedures - they are pretty much the same for all models.

SOURCE: How to open (remove back) Omnitech Vw19B LCD Monitor

You are right about the problem on the flourescent, but the issue is caused by the mosfet transistors. You need to use a flat screwdriver to pry the back of the display until you get this open. Start from the bottom side because some damage will be left on the plastic.

Well LG stands for Lotta Garbage!

Try checking the monitor to PC cable, if it's not fully on it will cuse color spread like you describe. One of the pins may not be inserted into the cable properly.

Need driver compatible to vista or windows7 for the monitor

Hi friend,
You are right in time I will give you the addresses of two websites from where you can download drivers or in that case any software.
The sites are www.brothersoft.com and www.bitcomet.com. And the best thing in both these sites is they dont charge you anything.
