Theres ice in the fan propelar, if you see no ice blocking the propellers its the fan motor itself,if you unplug the fridge and stick something thin between the vents where you feel the air blowing thru and try turning the fan, gently and it spins smooth its the fan motor,if you dont wish to do this turn freezer off, open the door and let it defrost, then plug it in if buzz still there its the fan motor

Kenmore elite, can hear water running for ice maker constantly as of yesterday

Well if the water was constantly running into the icemaker, it would be consequently over filling and spilling out through the unit doors onto your floor. The icemaker can be making a whirling sound, which typically means the ejector arm is stuck, most likely due to a failed thermostat or heater in the ice maker itself. If the water valve is stuck and truly is spilling everwhere in your unit, the problem could be caused by a stuck module contact in the ice maker, or a defective water valve. I guess the best thing to do is to isolate the problem, define where exactly you are hearing the noise. Icemaker assembly, or water valve? If the water valve is sticking open, identify which side of the water valve solonoid is making noise, then check the incoming line voltage to the unit with a meter. If there is 110v approximately coming into the valve, replace the ice maker module. If there is no voltage coming into the unit but it remains on, turn off the water supply and replace the valve. Some high end refrigerators use a relay board to activate the water valve.. in this case you'll have to identify the correct relay for the water valve and make sure that its not sticking closed or malfunctioning, if this is truly your problem with the unit.

Water leak on back wall of my freezer and a hell of noise from my icemaker when on

Water leak and noise are due to wrong temp setting or malfunction of defrost cycking.Keep temp setting between 3 and 5 degree centigrade. Due to over frosting, the freezer fan fan hits over the ice and working to cool fridge compartment. And also check defrost timer, and heaterworking properly to defrost in time. And if your ice maker is making sound, due to:
  • You will hear a buzzing sound when the water valve opens to fill the water reservoir for each cycle.
  • Rattling noises may come from the flow of the refrigerant or water line. Items stored on top of the ice maker can also make noises.
  • The high-efficiency compressor may make a pulsating or high-pitched sound.
  • Water running over the evaporator plate may make a splashing sound.
  • Water running from the evaporator plate to the water reservoir may make a splashing sound.
  • As each cycle ends, you may hear a gurgling sound due to the refrigerant flowing in your ice maker.
  • You may hear air being forced over the condenser by the condenser fan.
  • During the harvest cycle, you may hear a "thud" when the ice sheet slides from the evaporator onto the cutter grid.
  • When you first start the ice maker, you may hear water running continuously. The ice maker is programmed to run a rinse cycle before it begins to make ice.
Hope, it's helpful>

Thanks for being there. I bought a Whirpool refrid/ freezer on top from a friend and the water pump behind ans at the back of the unit was broken. I had a repair man replace the water pump. What happens is...

If your ice maker was leaking before and after the valve replacement, it is likely the ice maker that is at fault. The ice maker energizes the water solenoid, its not a pump, which then opens to allow the pressurized water flow up to the ice maker. If the valve solenoid has been replaced, the culprit is likely the ice maker itself. The valve should only be open for about 7-9 seconds, but if the ice maker motor is slow, or if there is some other malfunction with the ice maker, it will energize the valve for too long, causing it to then overflow. It could also be a hairline crack in the ice maker mold that is causing it to leak.

Ice maker not making ice

I don't recommend repair on this unit. Simple replacement. Try to find Ice maker kit @ local home depot or lowes that is same. You can buy whole kit for $50-$75.00.

there is a test button underneath the ice maker press this making sure you put a tray of some kind underneath this will operate the icemaker and go through its empty and fill cycle ,if it does not fill it will be the solonoid valve

Ice maker cycling but getting stuck

Either you have a bad heating element (soften the ice to eject) or a stripped gear in Ice Maker either way it will have to be replaced by the time you buy the parts and install them you can just replace the ice maker as a unit
