despite a port on the motherboard for the back-lite option, not all motherboards actually have all the supporting hardware. Those that do, but aren't equipped originally with the backlit keyboard typically haven't installed the basic drivers to operate one.
start by opening: [control panel]>[system]>[device manager] and select 'search for new hardware'
This should help you get your keyboard backlit. http://superuser.com/questions/708043/keyboard-backlight-in-device-manager Keyboard Backlight in Device Manager
It appears to be a normal issue with this model, however there is an update on Sony's site that addresses that issue. If you look at the very bottom of the update details I'm about to post, you will see it 55 Class 54 6 diag BRAVIA HX800 LED Backlit LCD HDTV 3D

The Mitel 4025 (and 4125) was originally available in two models, an earlier non-backlit model and a later/newer backlit model. There is no lighting available in the non-backlit model, so if that's what you have, you're out of luck.
Try changing the input device to something you are sure works. Switch off TV manually, switch off power, remove plug and retry after 48 hours. If problem persists, please refer it to a qualified service technician.

Hello Mimaki Backlit person,
I had a similar problem with an HP flatbed printer on backlit material. I corrected it (mostly) by lowering the print head to the sheet. Yeah, sounds crazy, and you might have to use a profile which uses less ink, but not only did it clean up the white areas, it sharpened the color edges. Even more important to have clean material and machinery, of course.
I would think that lowering the head would cause blurring and smears, but no. Also, the material I was using had been changed by our supplier, which explained why it worked great before and not now. Suppliers frequently swap items for cheaper material, even replacing one option with their cheaper choice, telling me "OH, it's the same thing."
Yeah, right.
Good Luck!
If the Psp turns on and you can hear the O/s " Operating system start up, your backlite has burned out. This is a common problem with alot of handheld products and isnt so difficult to replace. You will need the tools to open and replace including a new lcd or backlite. (Ebay.com) sells backlites and lcd combo's at a reduced price. If you are under a 1 year warenty give sony a call, but dont tell them you think its the backlite, ask alot of questions and see if its covered, mabye a full replacement can be sent to you only the cost of Shipping. Give it a try and if no luck mabye I can jot down the steps to remove and replace the backlite.
Notice: The backlite may not be the problem, if you replace the backlite and it still is un-functional, then you will have to replace the lcd. The backlight is easy to replace if you take your time and isnt as cheaper to do then a whole lcd replacement.
go to start>settings>system>power>check the backlit light function to be set to ON. otherwise have to visit auth service center for backlit light checkup.
