Where is the fuse located in the microwave? The model is a Whirlpool MH6700XV1 made in Sept 89. It is a wall unit over the oven microwave.

Hi and welcome to FixYa,

There are acutally 2 fuses in this unit. The thermal fuse is item 3 and the regular fuse is item 7 of this link:

Both fuses are on the rear of the unit inside the back panel attached to the air guide (Item 5 above link)

Make sure the unit is powered off before changing any fuse. Most fuses fail due to a component failure. High Voltage Diode, Capacitor, Magnetron or an interlock switch. If you replace the fuse and hear a loud humming when you try to use it most likely the diode has failed. DO NOT do anything beyond the fuse without grounding the capacitor first. It will ruin your day if it is charged and you touch a wire terminal. Any testing is done at your own risk knowing the dangers of same.

Thanks for choosing FixYa,

The microwave will not turn on. No power. Checked fuse box and power outlet...not the problem. Unit just wont turn on? Is there a reset button or another option.?

Remove the cover and locate the internal fuse you will find near the power cord entry. Replace with the same.

.65A Fuse for Beaumark Microwave

You can buy it through electronic shop and look for that ratings. When you install it to the microwave and operate it without blown, you'll sure the microwave is back to normal operation. But when you install it and operate then the fuse is blown again. Then problem is there's a shorted in microwave circuit.
Thanks for asking.

Oster microwave model OM1Z01E0VG is not heating. The light comes on and the plate rotates and it sounds like it is working, but it does not cook/heat.

If your unit is under warranty, you should return it to the store or on to the authorized service center. but if not try to follow this simple steps.. (1). unplug the unit from the wall socket. (2) remove the protective cover. (3) check the high voltage fuse if blown or open... its located near the high voltage transformer.. (4) check the high voltage capacitor.. make sure you discharged it first to avoid injury... (5) if the high voltage fuse blown or and the high voltage capacitor is leaky, open, or shorted. you should replace it w/ the same exact value. (6) in rare circumtances a blown high voltage fuse opten cause by a shorted magnetron tube and a shorted or open high voltage diode could be the problem... just replace it w/ the same exact value to avoid injury... The Microwave will not turn on.....Power is available at the socket. It stopped working while it was microwaving...

May be the main fuse inside the can try to replace the fuse...It will be around 15 Amps and will look like it is made of ceramic. If you change the fuse and it pops again then you have a major problem that is causing the fuse to blow. Be very careful when opening up the cover as there are very high voltages present inside the cabinet, especially near the magnetron tube and it's filter capacitor. These voltages can kill you so be careful. If the fuse blows again, then I would have a repairman service the unit

Sharp microwave carousel R330J 1100 watt. When the heating cycle is started the microwave light flickers on and off and there is a clicking sound. Initially high voltage fuse blown. replaced fuse and...

Hi and welcome to FixYa. I am Kelly.

1st the model number appears to be incomplete. Not an issue at this point but will be if you need parts.

You most likely have an interlock problem with one of the 2 door switches or the door interlock mechanism is broken.
There are 3 safety interlock micro switches activated by the door. One for the light, one for the Magnetron and one for the control panel power. If the problem persists with the Magnetron disconnected. The Magnetron safety interlock micro switch is supposed to blow the fuse if the unit is energized with the door open. Check continuity of your door interlocks. Pat particular attention to the NC (normally closed), C (Common) and NO (Normally Open) contacts.
NC should read to C and when the switch is activated read open at which time the NO contact will read to C.

I really suspect a bad microswitch.

Thanks for choosing FixYa.

Motor just stopped.

Some of the Sharp's have a fuse in by the switch. Could be blown fuse, bad switch or bad cord. The worst would be an open in the motor.
