Make sure to check the main power to the unit,there should be 220 volts at the terminal block.If not check the circuit breakers.
If the power is goo then you will need to check one of the thermal fuse located near the heating element.

We'll need to know the Mfr/Model number of your new dryer, but it may be that you've
selected a drying cycle that only air dries (without heat) - this is a mode used on delicate
clothing (not a malfunction).
Is your new unit electric or gas?
