The hose is sucking up but the base plate doesnt?

If you have taken the bottom end of the machine apart, you might not have reassembled it correctly so that the path to the floor (base) plate is obstructed when the vacuum cleaner body is laid back, otherwise:

You have either a blockage in the section of the cleaner in the vicinity of the short flexible hose and the floor (base) plate or the the short flexible hose has become detached at one or both ends.

1. Stand the machine upright with the beater bar in the "off " position. Machine switched off but plugged into the mains outlet.
2. Lay machine on its left hand side. You will see the short flexible hose uppermost. Check that it is attached at both tends and has not split or cracked. Check for obvious visible obstruction inside.
3. Remove the floor (base) plate by releasing the three plastic clips with a quarter turn anti-clockwise. Lift floor plate forwards and check no obstruction. Replace floor plate. Stand machine upright on floor.
4. Press two plastic clips to release the inspection cover, on bottom right hand side of machine (when standing behind it). Look into the hole: you will now be looking down into the U-bend that leads to the hose. Switch on the machine: full suction should be at the hole on the side of the machine (otherwise the hose would not have worked). Switch off.
5. Lean the handle and machine body backwards, as though you were going to use the machine on the floor. The hole to the hose now becomes covered and you will be able to see into the short flexible hose that leads to the floor plate. Check for obstruction. Replace inspection cover.

If there's no obstruction and the flexible hose is sound and attached securely then the machine will work - there's nothing else to check.

Why have you posted this question twice on the same day?

I have a Pfaff 1471 which changes programs mid sewing after I have been sewing for a while, or if I leave it on when I am not sewing. The only way I have found to get back to the sewing mod that I need...

It's possible that the base plate, which has your power supply in it, is going out. Sometimes needles have been found inside the base plate from sewers putting pins on the top of the machine, and they fall inside. You might just loosen the 4 straight slot screws on the bottom of the machine, seperate the base plate from the machine to check for any pins or needles inside. Lay the machine on it's back to do this and DON'T forget to unplug it. If you choose to disconnect all the connection cables, be careful when you pry the tab to pull off each cable, cause of the heat created by the base plate the plastic tabs are brittle and they do break.

Door loke not warking

if its centrally locked via keyfob then i wuold look at the motor. if its manual then there will be a problem with the rear of the lock where you will find a fixing plate and a linkage similar to your gearsing system but smaller, make sure that all this is intact and then try lock again. if this does not work then you will have to explain more.

Whirlpool awo/d 4305

If you're talking about the drain pump clean out trap, the following link explains how to check it and clean it:

http://www.fixya.com/support/r385845-checking_drain_pump_in_whirlpool_duet

This is the only "filter" on this washing machine. If you need service information, the manufacturer normally places technical information inside the appliance behind the bottom panel under the door. Look inside and there should be a tech sheet taped to the inside of the cabinet walls, or inside the bottom panel. I hope this helps you. Let me know if you require addtional assistance.
