I want a motor for pfaff262 - PfaFF Sewing Machines

The Bernina 1230 sewing machine is equipped with two stepper motors that operate the needle and feed dogs. The locations of these motors are as follows:

Stepper motor for needle position: The stepper motor for needle position is positioned behind the side cover of the sewing machine. To gain access to the motor, you will need to remove the side cover by freeing its screws. Once the cover has been removed, the stepper motor should be visible on the right side of the machine.
The stepper motor for the feed dog is positioned beneath the base of the sewing machine. To gain access to the motor, you must remove the base by removing the screws that secure it. Once the base has been removed, the stepper motor should be visible on the left side of the machine.
Please be aware that working on sewing machine motors can be difficult and may necessitate the use of specific equipment and skills. If you are unfamiliar with sewing machine repairs, you should probably take your machine to a competent technician.

The motor is running.That is confirmed that motor is fine.But the wires from motor has to be checked.the motor connections are getting short and this is causing the plastic belt to burn.Check the motor as well as its connection.

hi! burn out motor replcement sure can do it.be sure to unplug machine open motor cover downside of hand wheel of motor ,loosen lock screw pull cover if can see belt and motor.loosen motor holder lock screw,adjust motor then pull out belt.underneath bottom of machine cover remove. the terminal chord disconnect, loosen bolt on motor holder and pull out motor replace,putting

motor inside the casing you have to remove the cover motor at the rear beside the handwheel of sewing machine loosen set screw or lift upside machine bed so you can see the motor and wiring circuit,if bottom cover is present loosen bolt remove cover you can check motor wiring using multitester setting to R10 set switch on and setting test probe red and black rod attaching the two terminal of male plug start pedal switch besure it was unplug on ac source if there resistance on the circuit and the motor.If negative result.Isolate checking the electrical circuit.check continuity of switch,if ok.check armature winding of the motor in two terminal of the motor, you have to pull out motor inside the casing first remove belt from the motor and handwheel.Loosen the 3 bolt from motor holder to the casing.In motor assymble unlock and pull out two carbon brush attaching tha armature brush replaced a new one pair of carbob brush and install back again.besure winding was not
burn out otherwise you to replaced the motor.

Generally going to have to be addressing the drive motor, either substituting a lower speed clutch motor for the existing one, ie if you have 3000 rpm motor, then going to a 1725 rpm motor. Alternatively, selling the clutch motor and buying a servo motor instead, which should be available with a variable maximum speed control. The Sewquiet 4000 can select different speed ranges with the flick of a switch. If you already have a servo motor and it does not have a variable max speed, then switching the drive pulley on the servo motor to a smaller size should help
A more convoluted solution would be building a support under the table for a layshaft with different pulley sizes so that the motor could drive one pulley and then a smaller pulley on the shaft would drive the sewing machine. Not a bolt on solution but pretty cheap to do if you are good at fabricating.

DISASSEMBLY TO INSPECT OR CHANGE BERNINA 830 MOTOR BRUSHES:

Remove the big plastic cover piece on the bottom of the machine with the single screw in the center.

Remove the machine's end panel by removing the single silver screw from underneath the bottom middle of the side panel. Pull the bottom of the side panel out and down to remove it. It comes off easily.

Remove the two screws under the motor assembly (silver screws with black washers).

Swivel the motor assembly enough to remove the belt.
There is a another plastic panel on the motor assembly over the motor itself. Remove the two phillips head screws to remove this panel.

At this point you can see the commutator and inspect the "business" ends of the brushes. (In our case, one brush was almost gone and there was nothing left of the second brush except the spring!)

You can then slide the motor out of the housing. I pushed on the motor pulley and pulled on the other end of the motor with pliers. The motor comes out rather easily, but be careful not to disturb the wires any more than necessary.

With the motor exposed, unscrew the caps over the brushes and remove the brushes.

Our motor's commutator looks significantly worn and the motor may need to be replaced. If you find a source for the brushes or a replacment motor, please let me know! Thanks, John [email protected]
