Question about Williams 1556541 (LP) Gas Heater

1 Answer

I have a propane Williams Heater. Seems as if when it gets really cold the pilot light goes out and I can't relight it. Then after some time has passed it lights right up and works fine. Lately it has been doing this every night. Any ideas?

Propane looses pressure when very cold try filling tank or blankets.I use a heating pad on mine when it gets low.

you are talking about the pilot light that on this heater is all ways on to light the burner when you turn the thermosat up , its safe to leave on there is safety device on the heater if the pilot goes out to shut off the gas , also when you come home you just turn up the stat if you are cold , if you turn this off you will have to relight it every time , there will be air in the line and be a pain to light up,

plus your house will be very cold when you came home after a days work or a night out

Williams debonair wall heater + pilot light problems

THE flame from the pilot should shoot past the thermo-couple and heat this up and make a small amount of mili- amps to prove the pilot light is lit. ..So if the flame doesn,t go past the thermo-couple it won, make mili-amps or its tme to change out the thermo-couple, They only cost lest than $8:00 and you can change it!

Williams Model 435FXR Serial GO222436 Forced air pilot keeps going out

BY THERMISTOR, ARE YOU MEANING THERMOCOUPLE, I.E. WHAT YOUR PILOT LIGHT IS HEATING? IF SO, COULD BE WEAK AND NOT GENERATING ENOUGH VOLTAGE TO STAY OPEN, SHOULD BE BETWEEN 10-25 MILLIVOLTS DC, WHICH CAN BE TESTED AT THE INTERRUPTER LEADS. YOU CAN ALSO BYPASS THE LIMIT DISC TEMPORARILY TO SEE IF THE UNIT STAYS LIT, REPLACE IT IF THE UNIT RUNS.
