Your computer could be infected by viruses, or your hardware could be damaged. What that blue screen means, is that your computer was shut down to avoid hardware problems, such as your motherboard not being able to hand the voltage.

Shuts down

Are you running xp or Windows 7?
Xp you need to boot into safemode with command prompt
then type:
fixboot
Once it has done that, then type chkdsk /r /f

If your windows 7 you wiull need the disk that came with your laptop, and you can go into either system restore, or chkdsk from there.

Also if you cant get system restore going but can get to the command prompt then type - rstrui.exe

This will bring the rollback wizard

Notebook Crashes to PowerOff state when lid is closed

Running intense program with the lid closed will cause a sharp rise in temperature making the laptop hotter than it should be leading it into a shutdown. The second issue, windows should be shutdown properly rather than closing the lid, this makes the operational system unstable and will cause files to corrupt eventually.

Your laptop could be shutting down for a number of reasons.
The most likely is overheating or corrupt files/drivers.
Check the fan is running and free from dust and fluff etc.
Run CHKDSK/F from the start prompt, that should sort out any bad files/sectors.
Hope that helps.

My comouter first blanked out and opened and closed windows/programs and then went back to normal. It then did it again for quite a while until I finally did a hard shutdown. When I turned it on it...

Errors on the hard drive or corrupt files/programmes are the usual cause of that sort of erratic behaviour.
When you get it back start it up and as soon as you get into Windows, run CHKDSK/F straight away, the computer then will shut down, or you must shut it down. As you reboot it, it will be in DOS mode and CHKDSK/F will run and try and fix the errors.
If that is not succesful, start the laptop up with your Windows System Disk and choose repair system.
Hopefully that will solve your problem. If not, you may need to format your drive and start again with a new system.

My computer keeps shutting down randomly. Also when i try to use F10 it will not respond if i try and run error checking the system will crash/shut down or give me a black screen. Basicly it randomly...

Possibilities:
1. overheating, and automatic shutdown.
Check that the fans are working.

2. bad RAM, causing "random" crashing.
On a "good" computer, download the free 'MEMTEST86+' software, and run it, to test your RAM.

3. Leaking capacitors on motherboard, causing "voltage-spikes", leading to "random" errors.

4. Bad disk-drive. Remove the disk-drive.
Connect it as a "slave" drive in another computer,
and run 'CHKDSK' ("Check Disk") to look for problems.

Car Crash

It wouldn't do you any harm to run CHKDSK (type that word into Windows help for guidance on the various options and how to set it going). It's one of the system management tools that comes as part of Windows..

If you run it in thorough mode, it will give you a good idea if the disk is damaged. If you let it repair errors as it finds them, it might even set you straight.
