Question about Honeywell HW628 Window Mount Fan
I was wondering if there was any way to take the back off to clean it?? What kind of tool do you need??
I had the same problem. I called Honeywell and they told me that it was designed so it could not be removed and I would have to send it in for repairs. When I told them it only needed cleaning, the woman told me they won't do that and I should by a new one. Right. So, I took it to Home Hardware and they were very helpful. Apparently, the screws at the back require a special screwdriver that is not sold to the public. But, they did it for me and replaced them with common screws. Now I can open it and clean to my hearts content.
