Replace et724-A with new digital timer 15313

You are install GE 15313 timer
Open following link to identify timer
http://waterheatertimer.org/GE-timers-and-manuals.html#15312

15313 timer does not require Neutral wire.
The timer you are replacing has neutral wire (White wire)
So replace timer wires 1:1 except do not connect timer to white neutrals.

Keep in mind the 15313 is for incandescent lights only and is not for CFL or LED lights.
If you want timer for CFL, then install one of the other timers shown on page.

We just bought a house and the living room has a light fixture and there is a dimmer switch that controls it. I removed the light fixture and installed a ceiling fan but the fan barely moves and the light...

You're correct. The dimmer switch was not made for that fan.

The Green is ground > so you're right there too. I assume other plugs nearby are working when dimmer is on. Check that to make sure.

By your description, I assume there is NOT another switch or dimmer that connects to same light. If so, you need a 3-way switch and the following instructions are void.

I suspect when you wired the new fan, that you saw the red and small black wires in the ceiling box. Did you connect the fan and light to those wires? If so, the following information will help you wire the switch.

Your incoming Hot line is probably the larger black wire that connects to Dimmer black >>> this wire will connect to either screw on the new switch

To test Hot wire for sure: Take out dimmer and mark wires for identification. Separate wires. Turn on power and test each wire to bare ground. Tape tester leads to wood sticks so hands are away from power. You'll be fine. Tester lights up on Hot wire.

Next: The smaller black and a red wires are a toss up.

Here's how I would proceed. Connect the black Hot to either screw on switch. Connect red wire to other screw. Put wire nut over small black. Turn on power. Flip switch. Check both lights and fan to see which works with red wire.

Next reverse the toss up wires. Put wire nut over red. Connect small black to switch. Check both lights and fan.

If red and small black control the light & fan, then connect them together on the same screw, and you're done.

If you want to control the fan and light separately, buy double switch, and then Hot connects to dark-colored screw on one side of switch, and red and small black connect to two different screws on opposite side of switch.

New water pump isn't working. There were 3 wires connected to my old water pump (red, green with yellow stripe, and black). That old pump has apparently been replaced with this part number (AP3160348) and...

lucky that the machine is plastic or you would be getting a shock
red wire is active , black wire is neutral and the green with yellow is ground
all of the wires have a color code for a purpose and must all be connected correctly
connect the pump correctly and the fault will dissapear

Old house with two black wires / trying to install a fan with light. New switch has yellow, red and black wires???? Holy cow do I need help!!--Joe

This is a problem where you would generally want to hire out a certified electrician. If not go ahead and unscrew the switch plate that feeds this light receptacle, and remove the switch. use an ohm meter to test if both wires go to the celing. I am guessing that one wire is acting as the hot and the other as neutral but i can be wrong, these problems are why we now have the NEC. at anyrate since you only have 2 wires the red and black would be the fan and light hot and most likley the yellow would be the neutral but check with the instructions before doing anything.

Hi there, we have replaced dual infinite switch on our jennair range and cannot figure out the correct wiring for the new 12002125 switch....can you help...???

Follow the instructions below from partselect:

Attach the black wire(s) from the old switch (terminal 2) to the new switch terminal P1. Also attach the jumper cable to P1 and "jump" it to S1.

Attach the orange wire (old switch terminal 5) to S2
Attach the yellow wire (old switch terminal 4) to 4a
Attach the tan/(white?) wire (old switch terminal 3) to terminal 4 on the new switch
Attach the single red wire from the right front element to terminal 2 on the new switch.
Attach the 'compound' red wires (the ones that come from the left rear/outlet connection and is also attached to the right rear switch) to terminal P2 on the new switch.
There is no need to separate the compound red wires.

How do i wire a potterton programable controller

Hi,

All you need to do is look at the wiring diagram on the back of the old room stat, you will have the following:

(normally wired with these colours)

OLD COLOUR CODING

Live (sometimes called common) - Red
Neutral - Blue
Switch Live - Yellow

NEW COLOUR CODING

Live - Brown
Neutral - Grey
Switch Live - Black

All you need to do is wire up the new stat with this in mind. (please note: if the wires are not colour coded like this then do not proceed and get an electrician)

Any problems or questions let me know

I hope this helps

Steve

GE Easycare Wiring Specs

Not sure what part of the machine component you are referring to but generally the colours mean the following using 240 volts:

Red=Active
Black=Neutral
Green or Green/Yellow=Earth (ground)
White=Switched Active (Become active via a switching component).

I think you should clarify what your attempting to wire up before proceeding.
