Yes you can run Diesel in this heater but you will have to turn the pressure up on the back of the pump.
You want the nose cone to be a good glowing orange and with Diesel you may need more air pressure to achieve the proper burning of the heater with the least amount of fumes.

Thanks

I have an old style reddy kerorsene shop heater. I was told that they would run abd be safe using deisal fuel. Is this true???

They can run on diesel but I myself would not do it. Diesel is an unrefined form of kerosene and has higher amounts of sulfur and parafin which means it will stink more and burns dirtier. Yes you can do it, K1 kerosene is the fuel of choice here and I would not change. This is my personal opinion you do not have to follow it.

Clean your nozzel, check your fuel & air lines, you may need to replace Spark plug and filters. You can go to the manufacturers website at www.desatech.com and they offer service manuals. I hope this helps you!

Reddy Heater not firing

Take air preassure from an air hose to turn the fan blades to loosen everything up. Time for afull service, like change the vanes in the pump, 3- filters fuel--2 air.

Reddy heater 155,000 burning good then rich, any help????

Check your fuel filter,, could be running out of fuel, due to obstruction in fuel delivery system. Either crud in the tank clogging up the pickup,,or maybe even water in your fuel. Your filter might be it,,have you been running diesel?? check it out....
