Question about LG Dryers

1 Answer

Hello we have an LG electric dryer that we need to move and stack, but the outlet for the dryer is way to far away from where we are stacking the units. We need a longer electrical cord. Where can we get a longer dryer electrical cord more than 6"

LGWmu2233HU is being repaired and the technician has "chipped' it moving the dryer off the top of the washer... it is an unusual color (teal-green) that I got at Home Depot... can you get applaince...

Bahama Blue front control panel AGL31533006 is over $100. Touch up paint should be available from LG, but servicer may have to call parts department directly for a part number. (I did to get some red)
Note: It is the consumer's responsiblity to provide someone to assist with removal of a stacked dryer if the washer needs service, or to pay servicer for a second trip and a second servicer if consumer is unable to provide an assistant to help remove the stacked dryer and replace it. Servicer should not have even attempted to remove stacked dryer by themselves, as personal injury and / or product damage could result.

I suggest you have the service provider order the correct touch up paint which you purchase from them. In the future, please make sure you always inform a service company if there is a dryer stacked on the washer ahead of the appointed service date, and if you are able to provide an assistant to help remove and replace said dryer, or if you need to have the service company bring along additional help. (at additional cost, of course)

Is this a gas or electric dryer (part of a stacked set) Frigidaire

Model No. GLGH1642FS has a gas dryer.
Model No. GLEH1642FS has an electric dryer.
Model No. GLGT1031FS has a gas dryer
Model No. GLET1031FS has an electric dryer.
Model No. FGX831FS has a gas dryer.
Model No. FEX831FS has an electric dryer.

Get a stack model that suits your needs and compatible with your home's utilities setup.
Gas models are more common with most people because most electric models
require 240v outlets that many houses don't have.

We moved our Kenmore stacked washer/dryer from downstairs to upstairs - now it will not work. any ideas?

If the dryer didn't get banged around or damaged when you moved it, it sounds like it might be a power issue. Is the outlet where the dryer plugged into controlled by a switch? If so, make sure the switch is on. Is it on an electrical circuit with any other large devices (air conditioning unit, refrigerator, etc.)? If so, the dryer probably isn't getting enough power. Try plugging it in somewhere else, on a different circuit (using an extension cord to test it, if you don't want to move it until you're sure) to see if that makes a difference.

I need to know if a new Asko Dryer will stack with my old washer

The exterior size hasn't changed and the plug to run the washer is the same so I don't see a problem. A good retailer can check this for you , but I haven't seen any difference in the stacking kits.

Electrical how to make it to 120v.

The drive motors for the washer and dryer run off 120 VAC, but the heating circuits require 240 VAC in order to work. You will need to have a 240 VAC outlet installed in order for the appliance to run properly. There is no conversion for this. This is the way the appliance was made.
