You need a voltmeter to check the continuity across the two terminals, it should be open. If there is no continuity the limit is bad..

If you found this helpful please leave a thumbs up........

I HAVE A MAYTAG ELECTRIC DRYER AND I JUST REPLACE THE TEMP LIMIT AND IT WORKED FOR 3 DAYS BLOWING HOT AND AFTER 3 DAYS NOW IT BLOWS COLD AIR NOT HEATING UP

Hello- Did you replace the Hi-Limit thermostat? If so you should also replace the Thermal fuse, located on the vent that comes from the blower wheel. Its is white plastic and has two terminals. Also double check that it is getting the full 220V. Good luck, best regards.

My Amana electric dryer will not blow hot air.

Your problem could be faulty heater element and or faulty thermostats.
This is a normal problem if the blower is blowing cold air.

My kenmore dryer is blowing out cold air

Make sure that both poles of your circuit are live - An electric dryer uses 220 volts to the heating element, but taps into only one pole (110 volt) for the motor that spins the drum. Check your circuit breaker to make sure that neither pole has tripped.

Maytag Dyer model # MDE9700AYW wont heat it blows cold air

Ohm out the thermal fuse, if it is ok, then you can ohm out the heating element, be sure to visually check the element as well becqause it could just be shorted out internally giving you a reading, but first and foremost check your voltages be sure you are getting 240 across the outer plug spades and 120 volts from left to common and right to common, unplug this thing before you get into the element area or you could end up with a smokin fro !

Maytag dryer MDE6000 is only blowing cold air.

Electric dryers run on 220 volt, it is usually a double breaker at your main panel, however, depending on the electrician and how old the wiring is you might have two breakers, so start there first. If not, there are several parts to this dryer. It could be an element, a thermal fuse, high limit thermostat, or as simple as a burnt wire. Most important please turn off power before working on this.

The other thing that most people forget to check is the outlet pipe or vent pipe. If they get blocked, when the heat turns on, and it is blocked, the dryer will detect it and immediately turn off the heat but the drum will still turn. Bed Bath and Beyond has a dryer vent clean out kit that hooks to a shop vac.

Maytag dryer isn't heating

You never mentioned if you checked the large klixon mounted above the heater. If it is bad you will have no heat but the dryer will run. If the thermal fuse (mounted on the right hand side of the heater chamber, 2 white wires) is bad then the dryer simply will not run. If it is good then the next thing you need to check is the control thermostat mounted on the blower housing. While down there check to see if that wheel is loose. If the control thermostat is ok then you have a bad contact inside the timer. Sometimes you can clean the contacts in the timer like cleaning points on a car.

Maytag electric dryer model DE410' Dryer motor runs normally and freely; N0 HEAT is produced by the dryer element. electric heat element presumably is not working. Cold air is emitted from the exhaust....

check all of those "relays", htey are thermostats, monitoring you temps, they should all have continuity through them if not its bad. (temp jump it out) just to see the element glow. TEMPORARIly.. you CANNOT leave any jumped out you will damaged something. HOUSE FIRE. just wanted to instill the importance of not leaving jumped out
