Hi Gloria,

Unfortunately, it sounds like you may have a computer board that's gone bad. Rare, but does happen and not something you will be able to repair yourself. There are a number of computer boards in the 7570.

I would suggest calling your local Pfaff dealer (if they are someone you trust) and having them check it out. If you're not pleased with your local dealer, you may find another dealer close enough to you to warrant the trip.

Best of luck getting your machine back up and running - we know how awful it is to be without!

Best,
Kim & Linnette

I have a new elna 860 expressive today when I switched it on only some of the icons are lit up, the straight stitch and tea shirt icons. On the straight stitch setting only the top 4 icons are lit

Is it "brand new," ie just purchased from an Elna dealer? If so, take it back immediately! It is still covered under warranty.

Possibly some of the computer components are failing. This, most often, requires professional service.

SINGER XL1000 SEWING MACHINE

Hi Peggy,

I know this want be easy for you.  I need any kind of part number you can get off the LCD screen.  Is it a display and you type the different stitch stuff into a keypad?  Or , is the LCD a touch screen that you touch the screen to select a stitch?  I do not have one of these Sewing machines, but I do Electronics repair. Is your Screen Black and not displaying anything?  I believe we can work through this and get you a repair solution. The back light may have gone out on the screen only. Please reply with more info, so that we can get you a solid solution.  By the way, Singer really does not make those anymore.  They are making a more modern Screen at this time. Usually after 5 years, the manufacturers stop making parts for a model. Good news though, we can work on repairing the one you have. Go to Ebay and see if we can buy a XL1000, or other venue to rob the parts from.

How do I change stitches on silvercrest sewing machine model875ouk

Do you mean the size of stitch or the type of stitch ?. Size is usually controlled by a dial with numbers on it, or a lever with numbers on it. Metric machines will have stitch sizes in millimetres, or 'mm', so maybe 0, 2,2.5, and so on. Others will have stitch sizes ranging from 0 to 20 per inch, with increments including 8, 10, and 12.

If it is the type of stitch, again, usually a dial controls this. It may have symbols on it, that resemble the stitch. Zig zag for example, nearly always indicated by Z shapes. If you have a pic of the machines front, fairly close up , I could tell you more. Some dials need to be pushed in to work, some need to be pulled out.

Why won't it do decorative stitches?

Have you selected the proper stitch. Look at the decorative stitch line 1,2,3,or 4, then the number above the stitch. Your screen should say 1:24 for line one, stitch 24. Make sure you are using the recommended foot. Embroidery unit is disengaged. Then makes sure you have selected the proper weave or thickness of material button. If it still won't sew, try a different type of fabric button and try that. This will change the tension. The tension could be too tight or too loose for that stitch.

Almost jammed

This sounds like a bearing failure, I would take it in to a service center and ask for a free estimate.

Proper Settings

A good standard tension setting is usually around 4.5.
If you find it to be looping on the bottom, raise your top tension. If it's pulling bobbing thread to the top, lower your top tension.
For straight stitch, your stitch width should be set to zero, although on some machines (and I believe your Baby Lock to be one of them,) the stitch width setting will change your needle position.
Stitch length is simply a matter of preference.

Probably a bad circuit board. It needs to visit a Pfaff dealer for diagnosis and repair.
