I have a Samsung TX-p2734 Flatscreen CRT TV. It worked fine, (hardly gets used) until my wife shut it off last week. It won't turn on ever since. No green light, no noise, unresponsive to either remote control or the button on the front. Cord is fine, outlet is fine, but TV is dead. Thoughts?

This denotes a power supply problem. The trouble could be in the low voltage or the high voltage supply. You will need a schematic and at least a multimeter to even beging to troubleshoot this problem. If you do not have a background in electronics. I would suggest taking the set to a TV repair shop.

Replacing the fuse worked for a few days, and then the fuse went out again. I did this 2 times already. The TV repair shop says it might be the "degaussing unit." He may charge me $175 to fix it.

In this bad economy, it may be worth it to fix it than to buy a $1000+ TV.
