Question about Tomtom GPS
If your gps does not come on, then it means power is not reaching the unit. The power is mainly obtained from the battery, and if the battery is not charged, then it will not come on. Try to charge the gps device for about 2 hours then try to turn it on. If it does not come on, then it means the battery did not get charged. That can be a problem from either the battery or the charger or the charging port.
First test the battery by fixing it in another gps and charging it for about 2 hours then turn it on. If it powers on the gps, then it means the battery is okay, but if it does not turn it on, then it means the battery is weak and cannot hold a charge and the solution is for you to replace the battery.
Next you test the charger by trying it out on another gps device, if it turns it on, then it means the charger is intact but if it does not turn it on, then the fault is from the charger.
Finally, test the gps itself by trying to charge in by connecting it to the computer using the USB cable, then you turn it on, if it does not come on, then it means there is a problem with the connection port or there is an internal problem or something with the unit.
Hope this helped.
