The radio is saying check disc even on brand new disc bought from Walmart after taking it in to fix a problem with the car starting up

I used to work on radios and televisions way back. Just guessing, it sounds like the radio is loosing the signal from the antenna. The plug could have worked it way out causing it to loose signal. I bought a brand new car a year ago and had the same problem. They talked to me like I was a dummy. I will not say how I reacted to that. If you can take the dash cover off and remove the screws that hold the radio in and see if the antenna wire has worked out. I could fix the problem. If not, you may take it back where you bought it and they can check it for you. If you know someone that know something about getting into the radio ask them. I hope I was able to help. Good luck.

Your car is 13 years old. The lens on your disc reader is also 13 years old . They get extremely dirty. Especially if the changer is in the trunk. I'd try using a disc lens cleaner to see if that fixes the issue. Could be that its just worn out. Hard to say . Have you taken it to a stereo shop ? I'd take it to one of those before you take it to the dealer. The dealer will waaaaaaay over charge you for diagnostics on a cd changer where as a local stereo shop would Probly fix it for ya for next to nothing.

sounds to me like an alternator fault, you need to check with a volt meter the voltage in the battery before starting engine and after starting engine. with engine running voltage output should be around 14v. if no change in voltage, then its alternator. take car to place you bought battery from and get them to test it for you. ( usually free of charge ) so saves you messing about with it

the dealer should give you a code to punch in. its usually pretty east to do.you may have got the vin wrong which will result in the wrong code. you will probably also require to resync your keys. thats in the manual near the back.
if you are fortunate enough to have your original manuals sometimes the dealer or orignal owners put the code sticker in the radio or mcs manual. take a look if you have.

The "eye" on your disc is either dirty or no longer operational. Try a disc cleaner available at any walmart or target. If this does not solve your problem, you need a new sterio.

check the elc box under the hood ther is a wire that gos to it frum the batory som times that wier is brokin at conekion in the elc box you may have to dis asembel the fuis box to fix prob

We had the same situation. Put in a new bigger better battery and no more truble.
